Soon after losing his symbiote, Kasady found an exact replica in the Negative Zone and was able to regain his super-villain abilities. Later, Venom and Spider-Man had to team up to try and stop Carnage.

Gwendolyn 1/8 Scale Odin Sphere Figure Review

(More customer reviews)Now, I am not one to splurge on dust-collectors, but I couldn't resist Alter's 1/8 scale Gwendolyn figure. The paint job in person is just as gorgeous as all of the photos I have seen online. This was my first expensive figure and I have no regrets buying it. The detail is incredible and the sculptor did an excellent job on her face. It is so beautiful and I am proud to show it off to friends. It is very delicate, especially where her foot connects to the base. It snaps off very easily and despite my care, it broke. Fortunately it was an easy fix and there is no visible sign of repair.

The Dark Knight: The Joker Poker Set Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, this is considered a "prop", not really a true poker set. It's not as big as many of the commercial sets on the market today. There are indeed 2 decks of cards here, but one consists only of 54 different joker cards. The other is a standard deck that has been defaced by the Joker. Each card has its own little graffiti design, while some appear burned (they aren't).
There are four different colors of chips, each with Joker's face on them. There are also five green dice. All of this comes in an aluminum case with the Dark Knight symbol on it and more graffiti.
If you play with this deck, it'll be more for the novelty value than for actual gameplay. There are enough chips for a two player game, but not enough for many more than that. This is mostly for display value as the cards are not that great of a quality and probably won't hold up to much abuse as a standard Bicycle deck would have. Still, if you're looking for something incredibly cool to display and show off, this is a great choice. If you're looking for something to really play, there are much better, cheaper alternatives.

(More customer reviews)As a longtime Starfire fan I am ecstatic that DC Direct finally produced a bust of something other than the same old Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman. My favorite Titan turned out beautifully in this mini-bust, based on artwork from the popular Terry Dodson! I own the Donna Troy bust as well and Starfire is a tad bit larger than Donna, making me glad to see they increased the size of this line a tiny bit with the second wave.
Perfect gift for any fans of the New Teen Titans and/or Starfire in general. Starfire rocks!

The Flash vs. Gorilla Grodd Mini Statue Review

(More customer reviews)This product was delivered in impeccable condition. It's beautiful inside and out. The box came in mint condition, not a single wear and tear from delivery, and the statue itself is perfect - the painting, the styling, the size. It's everything I expected. Amazon does it again for me. Thumbs up to them too.
This statue is JUST like the original statue but you can place it on your desk without being obtrusive. I have several larger DC versus statue, and they have to be shelved because of their size. This is perfect. Extra pluses on the size. I hope DC continues making more because, after getting this mini statue, I want to get the rest. I know for sure that there will be a Green Lantern vs Sinestro mini statue in the near future. I hope Amazon carries this one too.
Get this. You won't regret it. I kind of want to put this on a lazy susan because this looks good from multiple angles.
BTW It's not a kids toy. The entire thing is made of porcelin or resin (there's no plastic), so you need to handle the statue with fair caution. It's really durable for it's size but not rugged like a real toy.
One more thing, the little pegs on Flash's feet is kind of troublesome to put into the holes. They are really small. Unlike the larger DC versus statues (which are a breeze to put in), this one takes a skilled hand. Well, you just have to put it in once, so it's not a big deal.UPDATE: I changed the score from 5 to 4 because I found a rather minor (but annoying) paint flaw on the Flash part of the statue. Kind of like a few dead pixels right in the middle of the monitor. Flash's ear pieces weren't painted fully. It's obvious from the sides or at slight angles but hidden when looking straight on. Will post pictures when I have time. Honestly, it's not worth sending it back because no hand painted statues are ever rarely perfect.

Shrek 2 Donkey Collectible Bust Review

My fiance is a huge Shrek fan and isn't a huge fan of "dust collectors" (most of my star wars statues and busts are relegated to the media room :) However, even she fell in love with this bust and proudly displays it next to her laptop. It's not quite up to the quality of some of your nicer Gentle Giant busts (especially a tiny bit sloppy in some of the paint application) which is why I give it only 4 stars instead of the full 5. However, it still looks great, has a great sculpt, and it highly recommended for the inexpensive prices offered here on amazon.

The Donkey collectible bust is a replica of an original sculpture based on a digital 3-D turnaround image of the character provided by DreamWorks. The mini-bust is cast of Polystone, a type of cold cast resin, using molds made from the artist's sculpture. (More customer reviews)This is a fantastic sculpture, replete with details and well finished in a subtle way that recalls the action of the film. From any angle the figure looks great and is posed in a peak action stance that really looks like it might move at any moment. The size is large and imposing. When I saw all the Narnia figures on display in the Weta Workshop booth at ComicCon before the film's release, this is the one that jumped out at me. I would recommend this figure to any collector of fiction statuary. If you are a fan of the Narnia movies, this is a must=have!

(More customer reviews)Heads and hands aren't die-cast, they are plastic. If your seller doesn't ship them properly they will arrive broken and floating around in the box. They can be glued and easily fixed, but why would you want to buy something new, just to have to fix it yourself. My box arrived in thin packaging with the display box damaged(torn) and retaped closed, leaving me to believe that it was not new.

I'm going to tell you now that the energy sword can be put in the left hand as well if you get it in the right position. I do recomend this figure to any halo collection and any halo fan.

Lord of the Rings Balrog Legendary Scale Bust Sideshow Collectibles Review

(More customer reviews)The Balrog Legendary Scale Bust is, to be frank, a great big Balrog head, all in one piece (unlike other Sideshow items). The flame on its head can appear to glow if you stick a light behind it. The piece is fairly solid and sturdy. The mouth has impeccable detail, particularly the tongue and the teeth. The horns are the most realistic as they kind of resemble real ram horns.
This is the by far the biggest Balrog that Sideshow made (though it's just the head), but smaller, full-bodied versions are also available if you'd rather appreciate the beast as a whole instead of just its noggin. The Balrog Legendary Scale Bust stands 22a? tall. The Balroga?TMs red-black skull is laterally mounted with massive, inward-curving horns. The Balrog is topped by a guttering crown of fire; eyes, nasal cavity and maw are aglow with orange-red incendiary frenzy. So foul and horrible was the aspect of the Balrog that even the Moria Orcs, prior to overwhelming their adversaries, recoiled and fled from the thundering wrath of the ancient demon. A terrifying red glow, burning through the moldering darkness, presupposed the cataclysmic emergence of the Balrog. After a calamitous pursuit, Gandalf herded Frodo and the others ahead and then turned and made his stand against the Balrog atop the bridge of Khazad-dum. Gandalf managed to cast the Balrog down into a yawning chasm, although the giant demon struck a final vengeful blow, taking the wizard with him into the black depths.

Wolverine X-Force Fine Art SDCC Exclusive Bust - Autographed by Junnosuke Abe Review

(More customer reviews)The first two Wolverine busts from Kotobukiya didn't really catch my eye, but this one did thanks to the costume and the more dynamic sculpt. For the most part, I was pleased with the end product. The sculpt really is miles above the previous two, and it looks pretty cool from any angle. The facial region is a little too sleek and anime-influenced for my liking, but that's about the only complaint I have. The build quality is also nice. Koto seems to use a heavier material for these busts than they do for their Fine Arts statues. I'm not sure if it's cast in polystone, but it's definitely stronger than PVC. The claws are actual metal, which eliminates the problem of flimsy claws most Wolverine statues and figures have. The bust is also bigger than the ones you generally see from companies like Bowen and DC Direct. In the case of those latter companies, I'm usually turned away from their busts because they're just too tiny - not really any larger than your average action figure.
The only real drawback to this bust is that the paint work could be better, The shading on the skin is overdone, making Wolverine look like he spent too much time in the tanning booth. The silver regions of the costume are also too much of a metallic and shiny silver, whereas the source material usually depicts it as a darker gray. It is supposed to be a stealthy costume, after all. As usual, the paint flaws aren't really apparent in Koto's promotional photos. If possible, I'd recommend getting a look at the piece in real life beforehand, or at least hunt down some unofficial pics.
In the end, the statue can be displayed from any angle, so the drawbacks in the paint application can be dealt with to some extent by careful placement. It's just a shame Koto couldn't have delivered more in that area. This is a great bust held back a bit by a few quirks.
