(More customer reviews)My son couldn't wait to get this toy for his birthday. It looked like a lot of fun...and it was, for the 5 minutes it worked (literally - not exaggerating). Then, it seemed to get stuck in "whistle mode". It wouldn't stop whistling and the remote no longer worked. We did everything to get it to work again...different batteries, tried to reset, even took the thing apart to look for bad wiring. Checked the remote. Nothing we did made it work again. I'm going to return it, hope it was a fluke, and try again. I just wanted to see if anybody else had this problem because then I wouldn't bother. At this point, I couldn't recommend it.

The good part like all Safari Ltd. toys they have the animal names on the bottom so if you are learning their names you have a reminder. If you want great whales that float Schleich are beautiful in color and do float which I find important for a tub toy! Overall it is a great educational toy as long as you don't expect it to float also great price!

Gundam Seed Destiny Shiranui Akatsuki 1/144 HG Model Kit Review

(More customer reviews)Here we have a beautiful HG (high grade) kit of Shiranui Akatsuki. This kit is in the 1/144 scale line and has a surprising amount of articulation. A few parts are loose here and there, but it's not bad. I personally find it to be one of the most "stand out kits" in my collection.

If you couldn't get enough of gold-plated kits with the Hyakushiki, now you can start collecting the Akatsuki! Very nicely-done with "mekki"-plating on the major parts (which of course can be removed if you prefer to paint your kits, by careful application of ordinary household bleach); all the parts snap together and don't require paint. Nifty clear effect parts for the Akatsuki's various weapons are included, which is a nice bonus. Gundam decals for markings, and foil stickers for the eyes, are also included.

Bome Collection Volume 22: Fate/Stay Night Rin Tosaka PVC Figure Review

(More customer reviews)First, let me establish a few points. This is my first 'real' anime figure (I have a few bootlegs, but I bought this legit... and you should too, bootlegs are terribly made). Second, I'm a big fan of Fate/Stay Night so obviously I'll hold some biases in my review.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed Bome's sculpt of Tohsaka Rin. Bome's sculpt captures the fine line between Rin's model student and powerful mage as an FSN lead. Her captured pose is dynamic and exciting, but her face is very collected, with just a small smile... it is an interesting contrast that I find works well with Rin's complicated nature. The duality that Rin must display on a daily basis in the series (that she's a mage and an idolized model student) makes this pose make sense, closely capturing who she is.
In summary, I found it to be a very well done sculpt of one of my favorite characters. A few more notes to anyone hesitant or as new to these figures as I am: this may be labeled as an 'adult toy' and such, but it's an innocent and respectful take on Rin. For any new to anime figures, it's not really a 'toy' as it's not poseable; these Bome figures are definitely more akin to statues than to action figures.

The doll is an exact image of the character figure, it is not too large in size, and it is very durable. My plans as a collector are for display purposes. Being named Nancy all products on the retail market that contain my name just catch my attention. This doll has that innocent yet mischievous expression on Nancy's face. The art style of Nancy is graphic communication stripped down to the core. Iconic, minimalist, with a simple storytelling sequence that could be immediately comprehended as easily as a stop sign on the road. Although simply rendered, Nancy was able to communicate a wide range of emotions. (More customer reviews)This replica keyblade is absoulutly amazing! Being a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fan, I bought this with high expectations. Sure enough the keyblade is a perfect replica for the acctual keyblade in the series. And because it is an offical piece of Square Enix Merchandise, you know that it will be good. Although it is only seven inches, the detail put into it makes it WAY better than any actual sized keyblade replica. It also comes with a neat collector's stand, to which you can place the keyblade on. If you are a Kingdom Hearts fan, or if you just like the weapon design of the games you HAVE to get this. My only complaints are that it is a little expensive if you are not a die-hard Kingdom Hearts fan and I am a little worried that the stand that comes with it is fragile and may crack or break if dropped. Other than that it is perfect!

Flash 13" Deluxe Collector Figure Review

(More customer reviews)I am a huge fan of The Flash, so when I saw they had released a large-scale figure, I had to have it. The figure is packaged in a nicely designed box that has a velcro closure so you can open and display him in his packaging. The figure comes with 2 "punch" hands attached and an additional set of 2 "open" hands with fingers that bend and hold their shape. Along with the excellent articulation, the choice of hands allows you to pose the figure in virtually any semi-upright pose on the sturdy stand with post that is also included. The fabric uniform is of good quality and color and the detailing on the lightning bolts on the wrists and waist are excellent. The boots are very cool and appear to be some sort of smooth shiny fabric and have a zipper should you want him to be barefoot, I guess. The only problem I had was that one of the wings on the side of his head was missing right out of the box--not something that's acceptable for a figure of this price. I did find the piece several days after opening, so I guess I have to glue it on and hope it looks okay. Overall, this is an excellent display figure for any collector (as I'm sure any of the other 13-inch DC figures are) but it is probably not a toy for a little kid, as the uniform could be stained or ripped easily and it just wouldn't make sense for the price.

Mecha Godzilla Vinyl Figure (7" Tall) Review

(More customer reviews)MechaGodzilla is my favorite of Godzilla's many nemeses. The star of no less than five Godzilla films, more than any other monster, there is just something cool about this cyborg anti-Godzilla.
This figure is based on the Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla film in the Millennium series, the one constructed over the skeleton of the original Godzilla. The description lists this figure as being from Final Wars, which is incorrect as MechaGodzilla did not appear in that flick.
It isn't the full deal, and lacks the shoulder cannons that he sported in the film, but other than that the detail is great and with moving arms and head the figure is more than just a plastic statue, and able to make some cool poses with it. It's study, and could stand up to play pretty well. For me, it is just sitting on my desk at work, but it could easily be a child's toy as well.
