I got this for my 5 year old. I thought he would love it but he told me that he did not like it because it wasn't the (stretchy kind of plastic man).It seems to be very durable but it is not being played with so I don't know for sure.It looks like it would be the stretchy kind from the picture, but it is not.

DC Universe Classic Eclipso Figure Review

DC Universe Classic Eclipso Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. We have here Eclipso a crazy sprit of wrath / revenge whose essence was bound to a dark gemstone because he was a bit too crazy.
For Kids:
He certainly is interesting looking and a fun toy but I doubt your average kid will know who he is or what he does.
For Adults:
Eclipso has a pretty unique look - somewhat elfish with a pointy hat and shoes and large pointed ears. His long chin and maniacal grin are very well done and he wears a large gold belt. One hand is sculpted pinching a black gem between the thumb and forefinger - it's a pretty specific pose but one that makes sense for this character.
His color scheme is also unique with blacks, purples, golds and blues. His face is ? blue with a sliver of flesh color on the left side - so as to look like a partially eclipsed moon. It's a somewhat off putting design - as I'm sure it is supposed to be. He's a pretty eye popping figure.
No surprises in articulation - he's got, cut neck, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, ab crunch, cut waist, the universal hip joints, cut thighs, pin knees and ankles.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. His only other accessory is his piece of Darksied.
He's a cool and obscure character.
The Collect and Connect, Darksied, is a welcome addition to all the Fourth World characters. He stands a fairly impressive 8 ?" tall. His craggy skin looks just a touch soft to me in comparison with an older (but smaller) version of the character I have but he still looks pretty good. There's good detail despite that and even the bottom of his feet contain all that Fourth World circuitry. He's just as articulated as his smaller counterparts and even has a couple of accessories. One, he's got a Mother Box he can hold in his hand and that also will attach to the back of his belt. Two, he has an interchangeable right hand, one in the regular blue glove posed to hold the Mother Box and an open menacing golden gloved hand covered in circuits and machinery. He's not as impressive as I'd like but still a very good figure who deserves 4 stars.

DC Universe Classic Desaad Figure Review

DC Universe Classic Desaad Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. Meet Desaad. He's Darksieds evil best pal, inventor and torturer.
For Kids:
While the figure is sturdy and fine for play I don't think many youngsters will be that interested. He's not a recognizable face nor is he very dynamic, although he is creepy and has a weird accessory.
For Adults:
The sculpt is deceptively complex with realistic looking wrinkles to his robe and a real skeevy expression on his face and his hair is slightly unkempt. He looks like an oily character. He's in a slightly hunched pose and his robe is about ankle length and posed as if he's permanently bent at the knees.
He's not too colorful and is primarily dominated by his purple colored robe. His black hair and the work on his face is well done though.
Articulation wise he's got, cut neck, although a bit limited due to the hood (unlike the Spectre) and his accessory, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, cut waist, the universal hip joints (although limited due to the robe), cut thighs, pin knees and ankles and a cut at the top of the ankles.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. Dessad has a pretty cool accessory although I don't know what it is. It's some grey Fourth World device hooked over his shoulders with a box in front with various dial and spools. Handing down from it are two short this pipes the bend in, then two cables with control sticks can go to each hand. I've not been able to get it off him but if you really want to you probably can. What is it though - I really hope it's not some kink of front jetpack because of where those pipes are pointing. He does not come with a piece of Darksied but rather a blue stand.
He's not a very exciting character but I can't deny the quality of the work he makes a great companion to Darksied of course. And I love the weirdness of his accessory (what is it?!) I'm feeling 3 ? will round up today.

DC Universe Classic The Spectre Figure Review

DC Universe Classic The Spectre Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. We have here the Spectre. The Spectre spirit has had many hosts and acts as the embodiment of vengeance in the DC Universe doling out punishments that can sometimes be rather chilling.
For Kids:
Good solid figure - I'm just not sure many younger kids are going to know or get the character really. As a creepy ghost dude he'd be pretty fun and the kid fun factor goes up exponentially if you score the glow in the dark version.
For Adults:
If you're familiar with the Spectre at all I think you'll like this guy. He's deceptively simple, just a white guy in a cape and hood, but there's always been something about his look that pumps up his creepy cool factor. Maybe it's the face. They did a good job giving him kind of a long, dour, hollow looking face. The hands are in slightly pointing poses as if he's casting a spell and the cape and hood are well done and not overdone.
White and green is his color scheme. Green hood and cape, briefs, gloves and boots. I do not have the glow in the dark version (but I want one :-) but the regular does have a very light wash the subtlety brings out the details and around his eyes are dark.
No surprises in articulation - he's got, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, ab crunch, cut waist, the universal hip joints, cut thighs, pin knees and ankles. My favorite is that they managed to still give him a cut neck so you can swivel his head even though it is covered in the hood. Cool.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. His only other accessory is his piece of Darksied.
He may seem plain at first but his creepy vibe really amps up his coolness factor, at least with me. And the face sculpt and the cut neck are stand out features. Now I just need that glow in the dark version!
The Collect and Connect, Darksied, is a welcome addition to all the Fourth World characters. He stands a fairly impressive 8 ?" tall. His craggy skin looks just a touch soft to me in comparison with an older (but smaller) version of the character I have but he still looks pretty good. DC Universe Classic Dr. Mid-Nite Figure Review

DC Universe Classic Dr. Mid-Nite Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. This is Doctor Midnight. After being caught in a grenade blast we was gifted with a type of reverse sight (man, you trip over a rock in the DC Universe... super powers!). He can see perfectly in the dark but not in light, although his goggles rectify that deficiency, giving him an advantage when fighting crime at night. And he has an owl named Hooty! I don't personally think this is a strap on a costume and fight crime super power but what do I know.
For Kids:
While the figure is sturdy and fine for play I don't think many youngsters will be that interested (and yes I know it says "adult collector" right on the box, but where do you think adult collectors come from?). He's not a recognizable face and while his outfit is nice and classic it's not "cool" really. And poor Hooty would probably end up in the couch or in a nostril.
For Adults:
All the sculpt work is very nice here. The little moons on his forehead and chest are sculpted on and the work on his goggles and lower face is crisp. He has the kind of shirt that hangs down below the belt and the sculpted wrinkles look good. His cape is about ankle length and hangs down pretty straight. His boots are the type with a large cuff at top.
He's pretty colorful in a classic type scheme - something about it makes me think he belongs in the woods though (and the owl doesn't lessen that impression). He wears a green cape, red shirt with yellow moon buttons, black pants, belt, sleeves and hood and brown gloves and boots. His goggles are silver rimmed with blue lenses. All the small details, the moon buttons, belt buckle and goggles are well painted with very minimal slop.
No surprises in articulation - he's got, cut neck, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, ab crunch, cut waist, the universal hip joints (although limited due to the long shirt), cut thighs, pin knees and ankles and a cut at the top of the ankles.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. He also has Hooty the owl who looks nice and is painted well, brown with black wash. Hooty clips to Doc's arm fairly secure and his head even turns. His other accessory is his piece of Darksied.
Toss up. He's not a very exciting character (to me) but I can't deny the quality of the work and he does have an owl. I'm feeling 3 ? but if you are a fan of this guy then he's easily a four star for you.
The Collect and Connect, Darksied, is a welcome addition to all the Fourth World characters. He stands a fairly impressive 8 ?" tall. His craggy skin looks just a touch soft to me in comparison with an older (but smaller) version of the character I have but he still looks pretty good. DC Universe Classic Iron Figure Review

DC Universe Classic Iron Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. We have here Iron, the leader of Dr. Magnus' Metal Men the robotic super team.
For Kids:
He is a pretty neat toy with a few things going for him. One, he's a robot, two, he's got some cool hand accessories, three the Metal Men were featured on an episode of Batman the Brave and the Bold. He's cool looking and sturdy. I'd say kids might really dig this guy.
For Adults:
He looks very nice with a strong but friendly face, yet still steely (iron-y?) and determined. The iron symbol is sculpted onto his head and chest and his chest plate has little rivets around the edges as well as on his feet and hands.
His entire body is done in a dark tarnished metal look they managed to pull off rather well. Not a lot of variety to be sure (but it couldn't be helped) but still with enough variation to be interesting - as if he's made of old, strong, weathered metal.
No surprises in articulation - he's got, cut neck, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, the universal hip joints, cut thighs, pin knees and ankles. He is missing an ab crunch and cut waist but this is due to the design of his metal man torso.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. Iron also comes with two great hand attachments that emulate his ability to morph his hands. One is a ball and chain and the other is a large adjustable pipe wrench - which really has a wheel you can turn to open and close the wrench. They can be used singly or one on each hand. Both of these are cool and add variety for play or display. His other accessory is his piece of Darksied.
He's a cool and obscure if a bit uninteresting character without much extra.
The Collect and Connect, Darksied, is a welcome addition to all the Fourth World characters. He stands a fairly impressive 8 ?" tall. His craggy skin looks just a touch soft to me in comparison with an older (but smaller) version of the character I have but he still looks pretty good. DC Universe Classics Series 12 Action Figure Mary Batson White Outfit Variant Build Darkseid Piece Review

DC Universe Classics Series 12 Action Figure Mary Batson White Outfit Variant Build Darkseid Piece
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DC Universe Classics wave 12 (or you could call it the Darksied series) skewed a little more obscure than some past waves. They also have some updated packaging. This is Mary Batson A/K/A Mary Marvel and sister of Billy Batson A/K/A Captain Marvel. Like a lot of folks she was given great powers by the wizard Shazam and can transform back and forth from her super powered persona by invoking his name.
For Kids:
If you're trying to get your little girl to be a geek this may be a good starter figure. Can't really say the Marvel Family of characters are nearly as well known as other DC characters (Supes, Bats, WW I'm looking at you) but she's an attractive superheroic teen - that's got to count for something. She is of course smaller than other figures in this line as is appropriate but that does make her slightly more fragile, most notably in the arms.
For Adults:
If you scored Billy Batson (Shazam I think they called him on the package) and Black Adam from previous waves then she'll fit in well with the group. What they've delivered here is a confident young superheroine standing straight and proud. The hair and cape are made to look as if blowing to the left in a breeze. They've done an outstanding job on the flow and wrinkling of the material on her shirt and skirt. The face is attractive and the details on her cuffed boots and on the cape are done well.
What I have here is the white uniformed version. The other is red. The white is nice and uniform and the yellow lightning bolt and details look good. The yellow edging is not 100% consistent and the yellow rope is a touch clumpy but otherwise it's all good. Her hair is brown and eyes blue.
Articulation wise she's got, ball pin shoulders, pin elbows, cut wrists, cut waist, pin knees and ankles and cuts above the ankles. Due to the hair sculpt she can only turn her head slightly to the left. She seems to have ball hip joints that allow her legs to turn up top but all other hip movement is pretty much hampered by the skirt.
All the figures in this wave come with a little collector button, the kind you pin to your shirt, with little comic pictures loosely related to the figure. Her only other accessory is her piece of Darksied - the biggest piece - the torso.
I think they knocked the sculpt out of the park and the paint is very good and there are only minor quibbles with the articulation and she's a classic character that will look good in a Marvel Family / Shazam set.
The Collect and Connect, Darksied, is a welcome addition to all the Fourth World characters. He stands a fairly impressive 8 ?" tall. His craggy skin looks just a touch soft to me in comparison with an older (but smaller) version of the character I have but he still looks pretty good. University Games Anti-Monopoly Board Game Review

University Games Anti-Monopoly Board Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Perhaps there is a trick to this game that I am missing, but so far I have found it immensely frustrating. The concept is that you either play as a Monopolist or a Competitor. It is very difficult to win when playing as a competitor, because the rents you charge are much lower, although you pay the same amount as the monopolist for everything. For example, the railroads cost $200, both of you have to pay that amount. The competitor charges $20 rent. If the competitor owns all four railroads, he still only charges $20 rent. However, if the monopolist buys all four railroads, he charges $320 rent. Considering you only receive $100 for passing Go, landing on a railroad could bankrupt you if you are the competitor.
As far as property is concerned, you both still pay the same to own a property, and you pay the same amount for houses and hotels. However, the competitor charges much less rent. For a property with three houses, a competitor may charge $25, while a monopolist will charge $50. As a competitor, you never make back as much money as you spend.
The first four or five times we played this game, the monopolist easily won. The last time we played it, the competitor managed to survive, and the game was "balanced". Then all we did was exchange money back and forth--competitor lands on my property, he pays me. I land on his, I pay him. There was no real way to win the game at that point. The game went on for at least two hours, and I have never been so bored playing a game in my life. We thought if we kept playing the game, we would get better at it and it would become more enjoyable. I think the most enjoyable part of this game would be watching it burn.

It's a new spin on an old classic. A featured family game for 2005, Anti-Monopoly is a twist right out of today's headlines: free market competitors clash with ruthless monopolists. Players must choose free enterprise or monopoly, and each group must adhere to different rules. Is the winner the competitor who charges fair market value for rent' Or the monopolist who takes control over entire regions and charges higher fees' For 2-6 players.

Monopoly Review

Monopoly
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Monopoly set was cheaply produced in China, as you might guess given its price. For a family looking for a first set, it seems satisfactory. But anyone who has played Monopoly for years should be on notice that this set, redesigned in 2008, includes several minor annoyances.
First, the most practical annoyance. The board folds up into quarters, which allows the manufacturer to fit the set into a smaller box, presumably to reduce production costs. But because the box is somewhat smaller (about 16 inches long), there is no room for the sort of convenient tray for Monopoly money that was once standard in the old boxes (which were about 20 inches long). This is annoying for both gameplay and storage.
Second, the producers have unnecessarily and inexplicably made small changes to the rules of the game -- rules that have stood for more than half a century. Landing on the Luxury Tax space used to cost you $75; now it costs $100. The new rules also change the numbers of each kind of bill to be apportioned to players at the start of the game -- and in fact, the game comes with a smaller supply of some bills.
Mention of this set's Monopoly money brings us to the third annoyance: the manufacturers made numerous gratuitous changes to the look of the game. The palette of colors used for Monopoly bills in the United States since the 1940s has been changed: The $10 bill used to be yellow; now it's blue. The $50 bill used to be blue; now it's purple. (These changes make it hard to reuse money from older Monopoly sets.) Among the other unnecessary changes to the look of the game: The formerly purple properties on the board (Mediterranean Avenue and Baltic Avenue) have been recolored brown. The Community Chest and Chance cards are now printed on white cardstock instead of the familiar orange and yellow, and the classic drawings on those cards have been replaced with computer-generated 3D cartoons. Even the "Go" space has been redesigned: now the word "Go" is written in black instead of the familiar red. (Stodgy purists might also be put off by the various alterations to font, logo, and other design elements.)
To be sure, these changes do not alter the fundamentals of the game itself. But they are annoying enough that anyone with nostalgic memories of the game from childhood should consider a different set.

Though it's the Blue Faced version of the figure and not the newer Gray/silver faced version, the figure it self is great, a tad clunky and confusing on the transformation back to a vehicle, but eventually with time, you'll figure out which pieces go where. There are a few parts that would have made it better, but it's a Transformer of Ironhide, not often you see a figure that's as close to the original figure from the 80's.

Hound was always one of the more interesting looking Autobots back during Generation 1. He just had this interesting, boxy asthetic to him that I really liked.
So now comes this redo of the original toy, and I gotta say, like other toys in this line, they've done a great job of making him look like he used to but improving on him. The toy is more durable, has a better robot form (though the shade of green is wrong for the vehicle form), and is just generally nifty.
On the other hand the transformation isn't the easiest. You gotta remember to fold down the (strangely white) seats before you transform him or it won't go all that easy. Stil pretty nifty.
Bizarrely Hound, who is, you know, an Autobot, comes packaged with Ravage, who is, you know, a Decepitcon. Further Ravage still transforms into what appears to be a cassette (though if you extend his tail, he can be a wireless router). I'm not sure why they packed him with Hound and I'm really not sure why they designed Hound to carry Ravage in vehicle form. So, yeah, a little weird.
Still and all, it's a neat toy and worth buying!

Chief tracker and scout for OPTIMUS PRIME, AUTOBOT HOUND packs some of the most sophisticated sensing technology of any of the AUTOBOTS. He is capable of tracking even the most stealthy and light-footed DECEPTICON namely RAVAGE through rivers, across bare rock, and even through the air by the spare whisper of electromagnetic radiation the robot panther leaves behind. Though RAVAGE can hide almost perfectly in even the slightest shadow, no amount of skill can prevent AUTOBOT HOUND from finding him. Convert this advanced conversion figure from robot mode to off-road vehicle mode - and back again! Complete with a hologram projector in robot mode and an included RAVAGE beast-to-machine figure, this is one mighty pair for your collection.

Transformers TakaraTomy Japanese Classics Figure Voyager D-01 Megatron Review

There are many aspects about Takara that makes them exceptional over Hasbro. One of them is the care and attention to detail. Almost never do you see Hasbro adding shiny chrome pieces to their figures on the first release. With Takara that sort of thing's standard issue. A HUGE plus is that with Takara figures there are NO frustrating twist ties keeping the figure firmly imprisoned in his plastic cage. Now onto Megatron himself;
While some might view the transformation of this guy as a bit hard it really is very intuitive, even on the second try. If needed a quick glance at the instructions (though in Japanese) will set you on your way. The color scheme is very much in keeping with G1 Megatron, not like the ever curious white/purple/neon green of Hasbro. The articulation is top notch, this Megatron has a world and half of possible poses in him. His fusion cannon is almost perfectly sized for his arm. Any who own or have even seen the Masterpiece Megatron know how an obscenely large gun can shave off good points. There have been gripes about the wings on this particular figure, but I honestly don't care. They're part of the transformation, they don't get in the way all that much, and in some poses they actually look pretty cool.
And yes the design for his gun mode was loosely based off of some Nerf gun. Fine whatever, he's supposed to be a space-like gun anyway. His head by the way is nicely G1-esk, with some very good red light piping. I have a small issue with his fist on his cannon arm. When pointing his cannon his fist is sideways in a weird way. It bothers me a little up close but unless you're really REALLY looking it over you can't tell. He doesn't fall apart easily all of his joints snap in and out of place solidly.
Final Conclusion: You really can't go wrong with this figure. My advice is to pass on the Hasbro classics Megatron and go for Takara's. Don't worry about the price. When I bought mine is was about forty-three dollars and that's completely worth it.

Takara will modify the paint schemes on all the Japanese Classics figures. They are introducing completely different paint on Megatron and Astrotrain, and the other figures all will have chrome added along with slightly different designs to their paint scheme. The fabled warlord Megatron has now finally been reinstated, abandoning the Walther for the new boisterous anti-proton pulse gun mode. In robot mode, Megatron retains a semblance of his Gen 1 look. The massive gun scope converts into his underslung arm-mounted cannon. In the early days Megatron surreptitiously stockpiled power and leverage while he combed through the underground gladiator games and recruited his first warriors; during this time Megatron upgraded himself to outr?? capacity. Megatrona?TMs Classics profile portrays him in dark reverence, describing him as a conquest-driven engine of destruction and creating the impression that his anti-proton pulse cannon mode is a more autonomous assault weapon than the Walther version.
