(More customer reviews)When I first bought this figure, I was a bit unsure because it wasn't one of the official Green Lantern figures, but it was designed based on one of my favourite artists and the person who made this figure went to lengths to portray that art intot he figure with great detail. The paint job is excellent though I really do like the paint job on the new exclusive Blackest Night Hal Jordan. Now that figure uses the moldings of this figure, except for the left hand and the right hand lacks the ball joint that the figure previously mentioned. THe color does not smear or overlap. Also the chest has one additional detail, the green lantern symbol raised by green energy or rather green plastic but it does look nice. Especially when you put the gloved construct onto his right hand, it just makes it look cool. One thing is that the figure is bigger than past Green Lantern figures and finally, Hal looks like he can stand with the likes of Batman and Superman. The biggest problem is the lantern. It is not well constructed and the handle keeps seperating when you move it strange. Even more so is that since Hal's left hand is permanently balled into a fist, he cannot hold it. I ask you then, why does he have it if he can't hold it. it's unnecessary and brings down an excelent figure. Either way, this figure is a must buy for DC Direct fans and Green Lantern fans.

(More customer reviews)I really like this figure, It has nice articulation at 28 points. He comes with two sets of hands, one set open the other closed. The sculpt work is great there is so much there from the body to the little lines on human hands. He also comes with a stand that work well he also can stand alone. The outfit is the best part I don't know what they used to make but it works good. The cape sits verry well and the fabrick dose not stop you from making cool poses. The Boots are not plastic but some sort of fabrick that works great. If you or someone you know like Superman you need to pick this figure up he is the best Superman figure to date IMO.

It wouldn't allow a full range of poses, but with a microscrewdriver and five minutes, it's fully poseable.

However, within a month or so of playing with him, my son broke his leg off from the knee down - hyperextended it. No way of fixing it other than inserting a paperclip to hold his leg together. Now he's on the 'not played with so much anymore' shelf. Wish he was sturdier!

It has enough points of articulation to simulate running, jumping, and crouching. The right hand is awkwardly shaped. I would have preferred two clenched fists.

DC Universe Classics World's Greatest Super Heroes Green Lantern 6 Inch Scale Figure Review

(More customer reviews)From DC Universe Classics' third series comes the legendary Emerald Gladiator himself: the fearless Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. Suffice to say, based upon this action figure alone, Mattel certainly deserves significant credit for how close it is coming to matching DC Direct as today's best producer of superhero figures for mass audiences.
While DC Direct has a superior display-only rendition of Green Lantern from "Justice: Series 3" by Alex Ross, this DC Universe Classic figure is still an excellent runner-up with the added advantage of being appropriate for all ages, particularly for kids who want a toy more sophisticated than the smaller "Justice League Unlimited" figures. In fact, when I first saw this Green Lantern figure, it seemed like the same cartoon character from the old "Challenge of the Super Friends" animated television show had suddenly come to life before my eyes. The resemblance is that good.
Now, for the most pertinent question: does the actual figure resemble the promotional photo's representation of it? My answer is: yes!
The only odd note about the figure is his accessory. The lantern power battery in the display photo shares the same emerald hue as Jordan's costume, but the actual toy lantern's shade of green resembles that of a lime popsicle. The lantern just isn't as well-produced as the photo implies. Perhaps this discrepancy was simply a manufacturing glitch or, more likely, it was a cost-saving measure.
At any rate, if you remember owning the vintage Kenner "Super Powers" figure from nearly 25 years ago like I do, this new Mattel figure will definitely bring back some fond memories. Further, as Hal Jordan's best DC Direct figures can be somewhat pricey and hard to locate, this Green Lantern rendition should well suit your expectations for a high-caliber figure. Speaking of which, I would rate this particular figure's sculpting and paint job easily a few notches above the Hal Jordan / Green Lantern figure from the first wave in DC Direct's own "Green Lantern" series.
Despite the minor discrepancy with the lantern accessory, I highly recommend this Green Lantern figure from DC Universe Classics. It is well worth your investment.
Rating: Excellent.
My Score: 9.75 (on a scale of 1 -10).
P.S. Please also note that the figure's primary weakness is weak arm joints, which can result in broken off arms that will require super-glue for re-attachment.
