(More customer reviews)This game is really great. Someone in my gaming group has the 1st edition, so we were all really excited when we found out this was being reprinted.
For those of you who have played the first edition, the gameplay is the same. Some rules have been clarified, and there is more text on some of the room tiles for ease of use.
For those of you who haven't played: you should. You are a group of explorers going through a haunted house. Up to 6 people can play, and each of the 6 character cards has a front and a back, each with different stats to add variation. Other people have posted more on how the game works, so I won't go too much into it right now.
This reprint added some new haunts, which is really fun. I haven't had a chance to play many of the new ones, but I did get to play one with hidden traitors, and I enjoyed it. Some of the haunts can also be unbalanced. I was the traitor for one haunt where I didn't get to do a single damage to any of the heroes. The next week, I was the traitor for the same haunt and I absolutely obliterated the heroes. It all depends on how the house is set up, and dice luck.
My only complaint about this reprint is the quality of the components of this game. Something about the cardboard they used this time around just doesn't work. The first print had good, thick cardboard that felt high-quality. When I took this reprint out of the box, all of the cardboard components started to warp. The room tile stack can easily be compressed an inch or two because of this warping. Some people have prevented this by immediately placing the cardboard pieces under a book for a day or two after opening them, but I'm not sure if that works all of the time or not. Another component they didn't quite get right are the black plastic clips. In the first printing, they clips were too tight on the cardboard, and ended up scratching whatever part they were placed on. In the reprint, they are too loose. We have had some slide off completely because they are so loose they have no traction. The 5 spare clips can sometimes be enough to give you clips that fit on all the pieces you need, but it's not a guarantee.
The low quality of the pieces do detract from gameplay a little bit (when the room tiles slide under each other on the table, or your stat slider goes to the minimum and you die) but this is still a great game with a fun theme and lots of replayability. I would certainly recommend it, especially if they fix the game components.

Ravensburger Dragon - 1000 Piece Puzzle Review

(More customer reviews)If you're into puzzles or fantasy, this one's for you. This is the first time I've done a Ravensburger puzzle, but the quality of the pieces and material is evident the first time you hold them in your hands.
The pieces are durable, snap together snugly, and have a bunch of odd shapes and angles. My roommates and I set it up on the table and all our friends took random cracks at it throughout the week. Now it's hanging up in my bedroom (cause it's awesome looking).
This is the epitome of a dragon, too. Sleek and graceful. When I think of a dragon, this is what they look like in my head.
Lotsa fun and challenging.

The dark gray/purple and the light gray look nice together and the bright green adds a great effect to the dragon. Like all the McFarlane dragons, I recommend you have something sharp nearby just in case the wing sockets of your dragon are too small and you have to adjust. I didn't have to do that with this dragon but it varies from dragon to dragon. Overall I think this is an excellent dragon and definitely worth the buy.

This guy is easy to put together and doesn't have any balancing issues, he stays on the support even if you pick it up by the base and move it around. The flame can fall out and is easy to lose, but if you put it in tightly and don't move the figure around it doesn't fall out on its own. A very cool product if you collect dragons, or such fantastical things.

(More customer reviews)This is another great model by McFarlane and his crew. This dragon is my favorite of all the new models. However, it is slightly smaller than what you see in the images. The wings are huge, but the body is smaller than I thought it would be. The legs, arms, neck and tail all move, so you can set up the dragon in different positions. The wings pivot so you can rotate them in almost any direction, making this figure very customizable. I also like that it stands on the plastic base solidly, so it sits on my computer monitor without falling off. Overall, if you like dragons and McFarlane's work, you cant go wrong with these dragon figures. I like the Komodo Dragon the best, but you can be sure each dragon is of equal quality.

(More customer reviews)Here's my review for the Series 4 Water Dragon from McFarlane. This dragon is in more of a bipedal pose, something a bit ungainly for a water dragon (at least, to me). The base is nice and well-constructed, but I had to really stretch my dragon's legs to fit him on his base, which was difficult, seeing as how he is very sharp. Still, the detail is superb. Overall, a B+.

Mega Bloks Targon Mercury Armor Light Dragon Review

(More customer reviews)These dragons look pretty cool (not as cool as one of McFarlanes STATUES, eh, but still...). They each come with 2 helmets. Each helmet activates one of the two LEDs hidden in it's chest so they light up with one of two colors depending on which helmet they use. The reason these dragons get only 2 stars is that they are not very poseable at all and I am all about poseability. The bottom jaws moves up and down a bit. The head pivots on one axis where it connects to the body. The hind legs have two axes of movement where they meet the body (like the shoulders of a 3.75" G.I.Joe). The front legs are the same with an added one axis of movement reverse (bends forward) knee. The wings are on ball joints where they attach to the body, but the shape of the wings and the body prevent you from being able to move them much at all. The tail is completely static. For a construction kit toy, these things should have A LOT more joints.

Ravensburger Master Labyrinth - Family Game Review

(More customer reviews)You traverse an ever-shifting maze, collecting spell ingredients. Some ingredients are more valuable than others, especially if you have a secret recipe requiring specific ingredients. The maze is made up of regularly spaced fixed tiles, between which other tiles can be shifted. In fact you have to alter the maze, before moving your piece through the maze. You need to visualize what the maze will look like after you have modified it, so that you can move effectively.
I have a friend who doesn't have good spatial skills, but wants to improve them. She really likes this game, in part because she beat me several times. It's fun for gamers and non-gamers alike. Some people prefer the original game ("aMAZEing Labyrinth"), as the rules are less strict. When you teach others how to play, it's best to relax the rule about picking up the ingredients in order of value. The ingredient artwork is rather nice, and (unlike the original game) come on little circular counters rather than on the maze tiles.
You can play the game as a brain-burner (there is no luck apart from the initial layout and the irrational moves of other players). However, it's more fun if you settle for an event horizon of thinking one move beyond your current choice.

Based on the simpler Amazing Labyrinth game, this one is played on a board with maze tiles arranged on it. Players are represented on the board by little wizard pawns. Players are wizards-in-training and they are charged with running around the maze and finding all the ingredients (numbered chips) needed to become a Wizard. The trick is that the two chip cannot be taken until the one chip is taken, and the three chip cannot be taken until the two chip is taken, etc.
Perhaps the most novel aspect of this game is that players mutate the maze by sliding a tile onto the board from the side, which hopefully will enable them to travel to the next ingredient. Once all twenty-one items have been taken, the highest total score wins!

Dragons 2 Boxed Set - Eternal Clan Dragon Review

Again, for collectors who like to keep their items boxed, this dragon will be far less impressive. Does not display well in the box, and requires assembly.
Good luck to everyone on assembling this, by the way, I hope yours fits together better than mine! It took two people to push the wing into its joint, and it still isn't completely flush. Bits of the dragon rip your flesh off while you try to pry that wing in. SHARP and not for children or play!
The saddle straps on the back of the dragon were also ripped on the dragon I received and had to be glued. Always makes me sad to receive something broken, and with most 'action figure collectibles' once you open them, there is no exchange. (This policy needs to be removed... I have lost MUCH money on factory defective and broken-when-I-bought-them items!!!)
The stand/long peg also present some issues... my dragons non-articulated legs are too tight on the base peg, giving the figure a little lean; and the base is a bit too small to accomodate the great weight and wingspan of the dragon. You have to tilt it into the wrong direction to stand at all, and then be very careful.
Problems aside, this figure displays beautifully, and is my new favorite of all the Dragons. Still impresses me everytime I see it.
I have heard rumors of a greenish version (mine is purple), but not seen a picture...
Amazing figure, highly recommended, just not very durable.

McFarlane Toys Dragons Series 8 - 6" Hunter Dragon Review

(More customer reviews)This is one of the least enjoyable McFarlane Dragons, of which I have quite a few. It's very difficult to fit the pieces better and the tree and branch portions are obviously threatening not to stay that way.
The concept is really cool, the dragon looks somewhat bat-like and the tail curled around the branch is a really awesome pose. Unfortunately, the wings are stuck in a position that does not look like that on the box, and they don't seem strong enough to maneuver into the correct place if that's even possible. We were unable to get the tail snugly into place around the branch because the pole offering support beneath it wouldn't push into the Dragon any further. The plastic of the stand began to crack and so we left it as it was.
So far, my least favorite of the Dragons we've purchased, and definitely the most difficult to put together.

(More customer reviews)My friends and I enjoy card games that have strategy and are also easy enough to converse while playing. This game has more to it than the usual rummy, and the cards are pretty too. My seven yr old grandson is able to play with us when reminded what the dragons, tools, and dragon eggs do to the regular rummy game. It also goes a bit faster than a regular 500pt. rummy game.
My ONLY criticism is that the deck suits (jewels!) only go up to number 8, and I think up to 12 would be better. The largest number of people who can play with the deck you get is four. Buy Two decks if you like to play with more than four. Also there are a couple of obscure spots in the rules. We realized that the Marsupial dragon not only makes any card wild, but that the wild card can act as a cross piece ie if the wild card is a three, it can be a 1-2-3 in a run and ALSO a 3-3-3 in a set, as the middle card.
We decided not to count the face value of the jewel cards, but to give them the one point value that the rules suggest so as not to lessen the sting of the dragon eggs.
I recommend this game highly for card players who like a pretty deck and a twist on a favorite standby.

(More customer reviews)I bought this game as a Christmas gift for my mother who collects anything dragons, and also loves to play board games.
My nephew was visiting over the holiday season and also loves dragons so we decided to try it out. It was an instant hit!
The game rules are easy to understand, the cards are beautifully drawn, the game itself is fun, fun, fun for all ages (9 - 65 were playing!).
The game itself took about 1 1/2 hours w/4 people first time around and a good hour the 2nd time we played it.
The game takes "some" strategy and some "luck" (ie picking the right cards, rolling the right number).
This game is fun, the pieces are well done, the cards and board are great, and very informative information about dragons that I'm sure you didn't know (wink).
My only complaints, they could have made the dice a wee bit bigger and the people do tend to have a falling over problem, and the one dragon could use a base. Other than these small annoyances, they do not take away from the game play, I'm just picky!
If your looking for fun, family game, buy this, it's well worth the money!

(More customer reviews)To excel at this game you really need to work as a team with your real (or imaginary) partner. I love the "gotcha" element when a well played card changes everything. The basic rules of the game are similar to spades or hearts or bridge, but the spell and potion cards add a new twist. I've played this game with adults and with kids as young as six and they all love it. For any fan of the Wizardology book or the Harry Potter series, this is a must have.

Makes a wonderful item for any wizard lover, though it's easy to learn which spaces on the board to skip over. My only real complaint is that the box was a bit torn when we got it, despite it being new and shipped through Amazon, and that some of the hats and staffs don't stay put when the wizards are moved.
