(More customer reviews)Wow! This dragon will probaly be the #1 favorite of all the series (Besides the Sorceress boxed-set for series 3). Why? It's GOURGEOUS! Series 3 Water Clan Dragon is, in a lot of ways, like its series 1 brother, except for wings. His back legs are different as well. Instead, his back legs have huge flat fins like wings. With this one, the dragon has an eel-like tail, like series 1 water clan. But unlike series 1, this ones tail is BENDABLE! His hands have long claws that are webbed and his eyes have a marble black gleam. This ones face has a skeletal structure to it, like series 1 fire dragon. A problem is the base is a little under done but the dragon is to beautiful, it more than makes up for it. The dragon is also white (like the fire clan dragon in series 1) with blue, black, and yellow streaked across him. And when you compare him to the other dragons, he seems to be the biggest. HOWEVER, there is a problem with the packaging. The package bends his, gigantic, back fins to a point that they rub together in a way that makes his legs look funny(IF YOU WANT TO - you CAN bend the fins the way you want, this dragons fins are durable). I've also heard that some of the bases have the hole (for the pole to hold him up) at an angle that puts the dragon at an annoying lean that makes him fall over. BUT besides that, this dragon is a -MUST- for any McFarlane Dragon collector.

(More customer reviews)This is a marvelous Dragon, an almost perfect Green D&D dragon on a very detailed nest. It also comes with a just hatched baby dragon that is a seperate figure.
On the down side, it does have limited articulation and the pegs in the feet basically require it to be mounted on it's nest, but still it is a great figure.

This guy is easy to put together and doesn't have any balancing issues, he stays on the support even if you pick it up by the base and move it around. The flame can fall out and is easy to lose, but if you put it in tightly and don't move the figure around it doesn't fall out on its own. A very cool product if you collect dragons, or such fantastical things.

(More customer reviews)Here's my review for the Series 4 Water Dragon from McFarlane. This dragon is in more of a bipedal pose, something a bit ungainly for a water dragon (at least, to me). The base is nice and well-constructed, but I had to really stretch my dragon's legs to fit him on his base, which was difficult, seeing as how he is very sharp. Still, the detail is superb. Overall, a B+.

Dragons 2 Boxed Set - Eternal Clan Dragon Review

Again, for collectors who like to keep their items boxed, this dragon will be far less impressive. Does not display well in the box, and requires assembly.
Good luck to everyone on assembling this, by the way, I hope yours fits together better than mine! It took two people to push the wing into its joint, and it still isn't completely flush. Bits of the dragon rip your flesh off while you try to pry that wing in. SHARP and not for children or play!
The saddle straps on the back of the dragon were also ripped on the dragon I received and had to be glued. Always makes me sad to receive something broken, and with most 'action figure collectibles' once you open them, there is no exchange. (This policy needs to be removed... I have lost MUCH money on factory defective and broken-when-I-bought-them items!!!)
The stand/long peg also present some issues... my dragons non-articulated legs are too tight on the base peg, giving the figure a little lean; and the base is a bit too small to accomodate the great weight and wingspan of the dragon. You have to tilt it into the wrong direction to stand at all, and then be very careful.
Problems aside, this figure displays beautifully, and is my new favorite of all the Dragons. Still impresses me everytime I see it.
I have heard rumors of a greenish version (mine is purple), but not seen a picture...
Amazing figure, highly recommended, just not very durable.

(More customer reviews)This is one of the least enjoyable McFarlane Dragons, of which I have quite a few. It's very difficult to fit the pieces better and the tree and branch portions are obviously threatening not to stay that way.
The concept is really cool, the dragon looks somewhat bat-like and the tail curled around the branch is a really awesome pose. Unfortunately, the wings are stuck in a position that does not look like that on the box, and they don't seem strong enough to maneuver into the correct place if that's even possible. We were unable to get the tail snugly into place around the branch because the pole offering support beneath it wouldn't push into the Dragon any further. The plastic of the stand began to crack and so we left it as it was.
So far, my least favorite of the Dragons we've purchased, and definitely the most difficult to put together.

(More customer reviews)A very nice dragon and it makes a very good D&D Gold Dragon. It is posed about to unleash it's firey breath, too bad it was not included, but they do say the D&D Colossal Red Dragon's fire breath will be removable, so Hmmmmm?
This one has limited articulation while mounted, but better when removed from it's stand.

McFarlanes: Dragon Hydra Dragon Clan Review

(More customer reviews)Once again, McFarlane does it again! Known for their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and durability, their Hydra dragon is no exception! Being one of the larger boxed sets, this is a massive sculpture, but the detail is still amazing (the tongues have little taste buds and texture). I was also impressed by the way they designed the multiple wings so that, if they were to be completely extended, they would form one large wing to lift the leviathan from the ground. My only issue with this product is that he is SHARP! His teeth and pointed wing tips can really hurt if you aren't expecting them to be as sharp as they are. Overall, A+!!!

(More customer reviews)I collect well-sculpted dinosaur figures, and since they aren't really being produced right now, this will do! I stumbled across this line by accident. Though all of these McFarlane dragons are attractive, this is my favorite. The is something regal about the pose, both reptile and birdlike. The detail and paint job are excellent. I could take or leave the warrior astride it's back, but it is interesting. Also interesting is the crushed roof that serves as a perch. BAD idea: the toenails are sculpted into the roof, and not the actual feet - good luck getting a perfect fit! Not a big problem. Too fragile to actually play with, and little articulation. This serves as a VERY attractive sculpture, and I wish there was NO articulation so as to do away with all seams. Beauty.

Series 5 - Berserker Dragon Review

(More customer reviews)This was one of the more interesting dragons from the 5th series, but it's also one of the more frustrating ones to assemble because of the way it is put together.
In the picture, you'll see that the human figures are holding chains that connect to the bottom of the collar around the dragon's neck. The point where all the chains meet is actually a seperate piece that has to be popped into a socket in the bottom of the dragon's neck to make it look like a seamless collar. When I tried to do this, I found that the chains weren't long enough and I had to bend the dragon into an unnatural position to get the piece into the hole. Of course, any slight movement after this made the collar piece pop out and I eventually glued the thing in.
I like this figure overall, but I just wish they'd made the chains longer.
