6x6 CyberCube (Blue Box) Review

(More customer reviews)Starting with delivery: I bought the cybercube and got an offer to try the express delivery service (forgot the name) so I signed up for that. I only paid $3 for a next-day delivery. Plus it was a saturday delivery. I was very happy with that. Then I just cancelled the automatic charge for next month. The cybercube came in perfect condition with everything there.
Now for the cybercube: At first it was difficult to play with. I couldn't make shapes, I couldn't even make the cube after my cousin smashed it immediately after I took it out. It took some looking on youtube to figure out how to make things. After about 30 minutes of messing around with the cybercube I was finally able to make the cube. It always feels good when you make the cube, no matter how many times you've done it. Oh, and try putting it on your refrigerator :) The cybercube is a great time waster. You can make a longer car trip zip by with this thing. After about a month of having it, most of the spheres are chipped on one side. No idea why it's just one side and one spot on each though. It seems as if the magnetism is about as strong as when I got it. Not sure. I already lost almost all of my spare dots and have one left.
Cons/Pros:
Cons
-It is not for the impatient; the dots are magnetized like normal magnets with the north and south poles. They don't just stick to each other like you might expect them to. They have to be stuck the right way to make certain shapes and it can get pretty confusing figuring out how these little guys work with each other.
-The dots can very easily get lost and can stick to anything metal without you realizing it.
-There is minor chipping fairly quickly with normal use. Not a big deal though and not very visible.
-Shapes can be delicate; You can be halfway done with something you're making and some of the balls could get stuck to another and ruin the whole thing. Sometimes it's very difficult to undo a mistake.Pros
-Very entertaining
-Good time waster
-Pretty strong magnetism. I was able to stick one to the back of my earlobe and one on the front and it would stay. It held fairly tightly to hurt my ear after a few seconds. I wouldn't suggest using as fake earrings :P
-It is fun to figure out new ways to connect the dots and make different shapes. When you do, and see the end product it's a great feeling
-You can watch your friends struggle to make the cube and then show them how awesome you are by making it easily.
-People will want to play with it and you can show them all the cool ways to make things.
-Worth the money if you like puzzles or just crafting things.

(More customer reviews)I wasn't sure which one of these "Don't Break The Bottle" puzzles would be best. I decided on this one since the product looked durable and the rope was large. The large rope has less of a chance of getting tangled and the configuration of the puzzle is such that people can actually watch you try to solve it. The people I gave it too had a great time solving it, as did the guests they had over. They passed it around trying to solve it. I've always been into puzzles and I think this one is just the right amount of difficulty for what it is. You want people to be able to solve it, but not right away.
There were a couple of quality issues with the puzzle but were easily fixed. The beads on the rope would snag a bit. I took the edge of a scissor and ran it inside of the bead (without dissasembling the puzzle). This allowed the beads to slide without catching. Also, the wood piece that goes on top of the bottle had a crack in it at the end furthest from the bottle. I'm not sure if this happened after some use or was shipped that way. In either case, a little wood glue made that a non issue. Overall though, the puzzle looks quite nice and feels good in the hand while trying to solve.
In any case, I would buy this puzzle again...knowing that I might have to do a little prep work to make it operate smoothly. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the quality issues.

(More customer reviews)Don't Break the Bottle, wine caddy edition is a wonderfully polished and challenging way to give a gift of vino. This year I gave a bottle of Christmas wine to my mother. After the delight of opening the present wore off the realization dawned that there was a bit more work to be done to get at the bottle. Now even a few days after Christmas I still call to ask if she is enjoying a glass of her wine yet. The puzzle is rather simple but with a complexity that is just right for general gift giving. The caddy looks great, is sturdy and makes a excellent display for your favorite bottle. The caddy holds regular bottles of wine but if there is too much variation on the shape of the bottle it may not fit. While shopping I recommend taking the caddy with you if you are looking at different shapes and sizes of bottles to be sure it fits. Also if you want to put in something of a non-alcoholic variety many types of sparkling juice would fit as well. The directions on how to put the puzzle together as well as how to solve it are not very straight forward. But take your time, have fun, and don't break the bottle.

I did the Disney Villans before attempting this one and i must say that the Villans puzzle is much easier. If your like me, and dont mind putting in the Hours upon hours to put this back together, then when its done it is one of the most satisfying puzzle experiences ever. Not for the weak. This one is for the persistent, patient, puzzle worker with WAY TOO MUCH time on thier hands. HAVE FUN! Im a upload a image of the puzzle completed just so no one can Knock me on my review! The piece shapes are interesting and varied. A drawback of this is that not all of the pieces lock together, but it makes the puzzle less difficult than it would be otherwise be.

My family likes to work puzzles while we watch our nightly television, and we were very pleased with this particular puzzle.
The puzzle fits nicely on a standard-sized kids' poster board, the kind you can buy for a few cents at pretty much any school supply store. The finished puzzle size is approximately 17" high and 27" wide. The metallic sheen is very pretty without being an impediment to working the puzzle (although there was one and only one incident where a combination of the angle I was working and the overhead light made the puzzle a little too shiny to work, but a quick adjustment in posture took care of the problem). The puzzle pieces are just the right sizes and shapes for a 1,000 piece puzzle - nice and small with the standard array of shapes, nothing outlandish. The card stock of the puzzle is pleasantly sturdy and I don't think a single puzzle piece was bent out of shape while we were working it.
I had expected this to be a potentially frustrating puzzle because I wasn't sure if the silver oceans would have to be 'brute forced' into place rather than strategically inserted. Surprisingly, however, the puzzle itself is very detailed, with latitude and longitude lines running all over the map and little word labels everywhere. Pretty much every piece of the puzzle can be located and placed directly into place if you just stare at the front picture long enough. Which isn't to say this is an easy puzzle - I found the challenge level to be pleasantly high without being impossible.
The only possible complaint I could have for this puzzle is that the pieces don't snap together as firmly as some puzzles do, which resulting in an issue where if you lift out an incorrect piece, sometimes the surrounding pieces would want to follow because they didn't cling closely to their neighboring pieces. This also meant that sometimes, very rarely, it's tricky to tell if a puzzle piece *actually* goes into the spot it just loosely snapped into. This isn't too much of a problem with the map areas, but the solid red border did cause us a couple of spots of trouble where we'd gather around and wonder if a piece "really" went in that spot or not. But I think little incidents like that are pretty much inevitable with a puzzle of this size, and I can count on my fingers the number of times it happened, so it wasn't a problem.
This puzzle is pretty enough to preserve and hang on the wall, if you happen to have a bottle of Liquid Puzzle Saver Glue on hand. We chose not to glue our puzzle because we'd like to work it again someday, but it's definitely nice enough to hang on the wall if you like ancient maps.

(More customer reviews)Overall, this was a fun puzzle. The image itself was not especially difficult. I completed the puzzle within a week.
However, the randomly cut pieces were sometimes difficult to work with. Some pieces were very thin, or odd shapes that were too similiar in cut to other pieces. Often these pieces would interlock in places they did not belong. The overall quality was not as good as other brands, but the image was of good quality worhty to be glued and hung for decoration. I only took off stars for the construction quality of some of the pieces that raised not the difficulty factor, but just the frustration factor.
