I was going to glue it on a board and drip some clear poly shield over the puzzle making it look beautiful. It took me the first time 2 weeks to work on it and yes, you can't see the bottom because of the print. The roll up mat doesn't work so well either. I put it unfinished back in the box.One month later it was eating at me , so I started it again and finished it in one week.I put it back in the box for some one else to work. People think I am crazy but once they start to help are hooked. Our record is 2 people 4 hours. I like when there are detective notes for one puzzle and picture of the scene for the other. My only complaint about these puzzles is the next one does not come out fast enough.

This was my favorite, although I've only put together A, E, and F.The pictures for the 2 puzzles were so colorful and different, which made distinguishing them a bit easier (but not too easy).The mystery that went with them was very funny, with lots of cat based puns.It was not a hard case to solve with a few key bits of puzzle info to help.
It only took me about 7 hours to put both puzzles together and then solve the mystery.

(More customer reviews)My husband and I ordered this puzzle. It looked interesting having a mystery story and two puzzles to complete to find the clue. The biggest drawback to this puzzle is all the pieces for both puzzles are blended together and both puzzles like just alike except with a few differences, so it took a while of shifting pieces from one puzzle to another to figure it all out, plus the extra challenge is putting it together without any picture to go by. After 3 weeks, we finally finished it! This was fun, but it takes alot of concentration and patience to complete.

This was my least favorite, although I've only put together A, E, and F. The pictures for the 2 puzzles were colorful and different, which made distinguishing them a bit easier, but not too easy.The crime scene was the hardest of the 2 puzzles. The mystery that went with them was very funny, with lots of coffee based puns. It was not a hard case to solve with a few key bits of puzzle info to help.
It only took me about 7 hours to put both puzzles together and then solve the mystery.

The box was smaller than the others I have, but the puzzle was the same size and just as difficult to put together (but not impossible). I enjoyed doing it and the information on the back, put with the other three puzzles, gave some very interesting clues to the show.

Lost - The Hatch Jigsaw Puzzle 1000pc Review

(More customer reviews)As both a jigsaw puzzle fan and a fan of the TV show "Lost", I couldn't resist buying "The Hatch" jigsaw puzzle. It turned out to be one of the most difficult jigsaw puzzles I've ever worked on. For starters, I didn't realize that the picture on the box did not match the puzzle itself, which made it much more difficult. The puzzle is divided into several sections, separated by black and white borders, so there are dozens of black and white pieces that could go anywhere. Some of the sections are pretty easy for fans of the show to figure out, while others were so difficult that I didn't know what part of the show it referenced until I put the very last piece in. The puzzle does reference several different episodes of the show and fans will enjoy reliving those episodes through the puzzle.
As for the secrets "revealed" in the puzzle, there may be some secrets in the puzzle itself, but it seems that you have to buy all four puzzles in the series (the other three are called "The Others"; "The Numbers" and "Before the Crash" - this one has not yet been released) to fully reveal the secrets. So you would have to put together all four puzzles, keep them assembled and then turn them over since there is secret is on the reverse side (it's glow in the dark). With each puzzle being approximately 19" x 26", I'm not sure how many people have that kind of room for all four assembled puzzles.
People who like a challenging jigsaw puzzle and have plenty of time to solve it will enjoy "The Hatch" jigsaw puzzle.

(More customer reviews)When I first saw this in Barnes & Noble, I thought "Cool. I will only buy one." Then as we started putting it together, it became a family affair. There was alot of foilage pieces in it. There also was no picture to go off of. It was still ok. As we started piecing it together, we noticed that there was very light yellow designs on the back side of the puzzle pieces. It turns out they also put a message on the back side of the puzzle in Glow-In-The-Dark ink. I will not spoil it for anyone, but unfortunately you will need to buy all 4 puzzles to get the complete message.
If you are a fan of "Lost", I highly recommend it. Also is a complex puzzle as well for you puzzle maniacs.

(More customer reviews)Most puzzlers begin with the edge pieces, although it's fun to try other approaches. With this puzzle, it's pretty hard to tell the edge pieces from the others. That's the main reason I bought it. I never consult the picture while working a puzzle, but it's hard to forget the shape of my own country! The manufacture seems to have a problem at the stage where they burst the cut puzzle and collect the pieces. My copy had two missing pieces and a duplicate of one piece. I e-mailed them a photo and they sent a replacement puzzle.

I was dreading doing the sky part, because big one-color areas always discourage me but when I actually did, it wasn't bad, each cloud has lines around it to give me clues :D. The pieces seem sturdy, I like how the back is of blue color, there is not much dust and it collects at the bottom of the box anyway. The box itself is pretty. Obviously the main thing is the puzzle itself but when it comes in a pretty box, I feel it is even more worthy of my money.
