The game is fairly fast paced and requires at least three players. I found that have four or more really makes the game enjoyable. It is skill and thought that makes you the winner in this game. Since there is very few pieces, cleanup an d storage are no real problem.
US Games has included very simple and easy to follow instructions. The rules are bi-lingual, which is a really nice addition to the game. The age of play is from 10 to adult, but I found that this game might be a little advanced for some of the younger players.
Wizard Deluxe is a great gift for any occasion and is very reasonably priced. So if you are looking for a great family game or a game for those weekend get together, go out an get Wizard Deluxe Card Game.

(More customer reviews)In this game you have to make a "chain" of cards in yor hand to connect any two of the "anchors" on the table. A chain is simply a sequence of cards which share a color or symbol between any pair.
If you've played Crazy Eights or Uno, you know what a sequence looks like: red 3, red 5, green 5, blue 5, blue 7, etc. In Linx, the sequence doesn't come from the two players - you build the longest one you can in your own hand, and the two end cards have to be any two of the four cards on the table. It's an easy-to-learn, fun game that doesn't require huge amoumts of concentration, so it's a great change ofpace for the Uno crowd who might wnat something new once in a while.
The cards themselves are very nice and colorful and the reflective tin is not just beautiful, but it stores the cards and can't tear like a paper box.

Linx is the game of really, really, long chains. The object is simple - connect any two of the four cards on the table with a chain of cards. Each card in the chain must be connected to its neighbor by either a matching number or a matching symbol. Start by shuffling the playing cards and scoring cards separately. Deal four playing cards and three scoring cards face up on the table, and 10 playing cards to each player. Players draw and discard at their turn, as in gin rummy. Any player who can lay down a chain of cards connecting any two of the four cards on the table takes the scoring card corresponding to the length of the chain. The longer the chain, the higher the score. Once connected by a chain, the cards on the table are replaced with new cards, keeping the challenge fresh. Linx comes with 81 colorful playing cards plus 29 scoring cards, 110 cards in all, and instructions in a handsome metal tin.

Even my father, who really doesn't enjoy cards or board games at all, can easily be persuaded to join us for a round of Wizard. We've found that 4-5 people playing this game makes for the best setup because there are more chances for missed bids (and thus an added drama factor!) and the game doesn't last too long. You'll be surprised at how attached you can become to a card game--whether you miss your bid or trump everyone else, you're likely to become emotionally involved, and that makes this game an intense but fun way to spend an afternoon or evening. Five stars for sure on this product!

However, it's important to note that the game is played by all players SIMULTANEOUSLY - which does get the pace picked up quite a bit. You have to be pretty quick in "slamming" a card down to create your new word while the other players are all trying to do the same thing. Thus the four-letter word is ever-changing. I saw the commercial for this game on TV and being from a family that loves games about to head out on a family vacation, went to Target where I saw it for about $5. We played it with four adults, three adults and two adults and during each of those scenarios, had a blast. It was fun trying to stump each other with rare four-letter words. My mom has recommended it to several of her friends who have grandchildren. It's a great game for kids learning to spell and to challenge their word skills. Warning: After several rounds of this game, you'll find yourself on the lookout for four-letter words all the time!

(More customer reviews)This game is a lot of fun for those of us who like both Rummy and Gin. It uses five suites (clubs, hearts, diamonds, spades, and stars) and progresses from a three card hand to an eleven card hand.
The object of the game is to make sets (three or more cards of the same denomination) or runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suite), and to lay down your sets and runs before your opponents. Any cards not played count against you.
In the first hand three cards are dealt to each player, and threes are wild. In the second hand four cards are dealt to each player, and fours are wild, etc. This can get confusing, and often a player will accidentally discard a "wild card", which adds to the fun. The deck also contains some jokers as additional wild cards.
A player can be behind for nearly the entire game, and catch up in the last few hands by playing all the cards in her/his hand, and forcing others to get stuck with their cards.
The rules are easy and quick to learn, and the scoring is simple.

It's a great game to get the family together after a holiday meal... or any other time, for that matter. It's filled with thrills and heartaches, and it always brings in a lot of laughs. The more players you have, the more intresting it becomes. Michigan Rummy is definately worth the price Amazon.com is selling it for, but with a deck of cards, some poker chips, and a little ingenuity this is can be a do-it-yourself game no matter where you are.

(More customer reviews)This is a game that I can not get enough of. I have played it countless times with groups of all ages and can honestly say I still want to keep playing! Great game for traveling, family game night and can easily be played before school! This would be a great game for tournaments too, because it goes so fast...
Basic draw and discard game play, however with simultaneous play for 2 - 5 players this can get pretty wild pretty fast. Each player gets their own deck of cards and is racing to deplete their own deck first, while also trying to score the most points. Game play takes place in the center of the table where players race to build stacks of cards from 1 to 5, however the stacks can go UP & DOWN, making for fast thinking and playing. Whoever plays the "5" on the pile (of course only can be played after a "4") shouts "Ratuki" and takes the pile, which will later be scored points. There are also two wild cards per deck, allowing for a player to grab a center stack of cards at anytime, regardless of the number showing!
This has become one of my 10 yer old's favorite games, and she will be giving this as a gift this year to a number of her friends!
