(More customer reviews)Me and my best friend decided to buy these, i really don't remember why i had the idea, but we had the money, and it was a cool idea. anyways, we've both seen all the star wars movies, but, really, we weren't big fans. actually, the closest thing we have to star wars in our everyday lives would be the Jedi Guy, who dresses up like Quigon Jin and rides around on his bike downtown every summer. point is, not star wars fans.
so, we bought them, the Luke model, and the Darth vader,[Star Wars Darth Vader Force FX Red Lightsaber] and had the best midnight sword fight ever. we were thinking of returning them too, untill we pulled them out and tried them. there freakin' amazing, for any kid or adult! I mean, these things have got two 17 year olds fighting with toy light sabers at dusk everyday.
they seem to be fairly durable. they have some scratches from being hit together, sometimes a little harder than what was intended, but they haven't broken thus far. and the scratches are only noticeable at a really close range when there on.
Final verdict, everyone should get these. not a must for any star wars fan, but anyone who likes a good sword fight and making a robot voice and pretending they have a long lost son named luke.

(More customer reviews)My Darth Maul lightsaber is a fabulous toy. It has not been through any full blown duels, but it has better durability then I had expected. It arrives as 2 lightsabers and each comes with a connector to attach them together. Very well made. As someone who has had some weapons training, I can get this thing whipping around at a very high rate of speed, and it has little flex. I do reccomend gloves with use as the milled aluminum and/or knobs cut up my hands pretty good after aggressive use.

(More customer reviews)Actually, the Star Wars ("Episode IV: A New Hope") saber was a more literal adaptation of a flash handle with its hardware left intact, and a D-ring attached at the emitter for hanging on the costume belt. In later films (Episode VI, perhaps Episode V), the prop was adorned with more customized, futuristic detailing. (As was Lukes, which had the old calculator LED display replaced with some PC expansion board edging.)
The pictured scaled-down replica appears to be the version prepared for Episode Episode III "The Revenge of the Sith."

(More customer reviews)I got this as a gift for my teenage brother, a star wars fanatic (but not lunatic), and I am more than pleased with my purchase. The price tag might seem steep, but this is by far the best Star Wars Lightsaber replica on the market, with real heft and fine detail, though a little bulkier than the film version to house all the electronics. It looks and sounds great - with the flick of a switch it powers up, the light flowing from the base rather than coming on all at once like some of the cheaper "flashlight" versions found in your local toy store. Also, it features motion sensor sound effects, with different sounds when powered up and powered down, when idle, when swung and when it clashes with objects, like the sister who bought it for you in the first place - jerk. All kidding aside, it is very cool, but definitely for collectors, not children. It is not a toy but rather a great display piece, and a must buy for any collectible-loving Star Wars fan.

(More customer reviews)This is my second force fx saber, and my first made by Hasbro. You can feel the quality of the materials when you hold it. It feels heavy, and solid, and the metal is usually a little cold. The hilt is huge to hold if you have relatively small hands like myself.
Power up and down effects are pretty smooth, and the sound effects sync up nicely. The clash effects when you hit the blade against something are MUCH more responsive than my Yoda saber, for which I am very thankful.
The only disappointment was the brightness of the blade, and apparently this is because I'm spoiled by the green Yoda saber. I did a little research and apparently the green ones are considerably brighter than the other colors. Something else a tad irksome: the photos people post show a much brighter saber, with a slightly white core. Mine is just a dull blue compared to these photos. Would love to hear some comments from other owners on that.
It's fun to practice and show off the spinning moves from the movies, you'll find a lot of tutorials on the web (youtube). It serves as an attractive mantle piece and fun conversation item (everyone wants to turn it on), and perhaps best of all is dueling with two of them... looks and feels pretty awesome.
A final piece of advice - consider the Yoda one, especially if you're on the smaller side. I'm a small guy (5'8, 140lbs), and I find it much easier to wield, especially for executing one handed moves. It's lighter, smaller, and brighter.

My boys have cracked my knuckles pretty good at times and my knuckles have gotten the worse of it. Their favorite game is Anakin and Obi Wan versus Dukoo and Obi Wan and Qui Gon versus Darth Maul. Still need to pick up a Darth Maul one. These are light and easily wielded by younger children.

I have both Spider-Man 3 Mask Busts, Black mask and Red and they look great, but I have noticed that these replicas are not movie quality, only because the webs on the mask are different than the movie version, The movie version's body suit webbing was of much better quality than the webs on this replica. Even tho the Manufacturer states "replica", it's not "movie replica"..... Semantics.
But if you are a Spider-man fan, you won't regret getting them. Having them displayed on a shelf, they really look great even if it's not truly a replica. And that's why I gave it an overall 4 out of 5 stars.
