(More customer reviews)I enjoy playing this game, but it's missing something (constructed well, though it could use a holder for all the different 'carrot' cards during play - like what Monopoly has for its $$)
My little kids LOVE it, even though they are too small to really get the strategy of it (4 & 6) -- My wife thinks it's boring and won't even play it.
I'm sure the game would be more fun with more serious Adult gamers. I'll keep it, I can see my kids and I having a good time when they are older.

(More customer reviews)I have children who all suffer from light sensitivity,( espeially flourescent lights). My special needs sons teacher bought some darker light covers, the room is mostly covered, and my sons headaches went away almost completely. My typical daughter also was getting headaches. So we thought we'd try them for her, there are only 4 white ones in her room with say 12 lights or so. Her headaches went away. Her teacher didn't tell anyone just put them up right after winter break, noone noticed except I noticed my daughters headache chart was empty. Worth a tryfor $30 if your kiddo gets eye strain or headaches. Also my daughter seems much less fatigued at the end of the day!

The Front of the card has the location of the state, and the back of the card has the capital of the state. It best when used with the Hot Dots Pen. It is rewarding for a child to hear the sound when they get the answers right. After seeing my son use it, my 1st grade daughter and 5th grade son both wanted to use it, and all three of my children are enjoying learning the Geography! Unfortunately, we found that the vials for the base chemicals that were needed for all the experiments were empty! What a disappointment!

Commemorative Quarter Map Review

I like that it offers topography instead of bright colored states. It is nicely oversized, the quarters stay in well (don't fall out when you carry the folder around), and the cardboard is a nice heavy construction. Couldn't have asked for more.

My husband teaches 4th grade ad each year they make a trip to the Owl Barn at nearby Elkhorn Slough. Each child is given a Owl Pellet to dissect and they love it. All these kids come from higher middle class homes and have all the electronic equipment, expensive ski trips and vacations but have rarely if ever handle real nature. These pellets are filled with a rich history of the day in the life of an owl and as each child dissects their pellet, they reassemble the bones, skulls, etc (now stripped sterile and clean by the function of the owls gut) . It is wonderful and educating and really helps the kids learn about nature in a real and fun way. So some of you may think its gross or stupid or ecologically questionable but it's Biology !)! plan and simple. Owl poo rocks!

The problems would be good pre-algebra work, but they don't really require the kind of thinking that happens in solving codes. Also, all the problems are just one type, so even if they were what you were looking for, they would get tedious after the first couple of pages. Teachers, don't even think about reproducing this, since the pages don't work in black and white.

Since the numbers appear in the window it isn't essential that the players understand English. I rated them 4 in fun because the rap and music aren't ua upbeat as the addition and multiplication ones that I have.

The cards are printed on both sides so there are quite a few to play with. However, my family and I loved it so much we went through all of the cards in one night. It is a really fun game. Crystal Radio Experiment Kit, Review

(More customer reviews)My son needed to build a crystal diode radio for the Communications Merit Badge in the Boy Scouts. I searched the internet to find a good price and this was it. The instructions were fairly easy to understand and my son built it himself without supervision. But he was unable to get it working. I took a look at it and found that the problems he had were primarily due to incorrectly orienting the kit's chassis to the drawing. Maybe colored springs would make it easier to know what connects where but I can't fault them for that, there needs to be some challenge. The real issue I have with the radio is it doesn't pull in radio stations very well.
From my own experimentation I grounded the kit correctly and hung the antenna at its full height. I could only find one radio station and it was so quiet I could just hear the peaks of the conversation. I went over the connection two more times to ensure that I hadn't shorted anything (a real problem with spring clips) and never achieved any better reception.However the radio worked just enough for my son to get his merit badge.
I have built these radios when I was a kid and they actually worked well. I think this needs to be re-engineered to improve the sensitivity and increase the volume coming out of the ear phone.
