The packaging is excellent and the key itself is a perfect replica of the one Mikey uses in the film. This is a must-have for any Goonies fan out there. Forget the star ratings from Amazon for this one...it's not really a toy meant to be played.

(More customer reviews)My family loves Trivial Pursuit so I bought this version to try. The questions are great for the most part and directions are simple. My only complaint is there aren't near enough question cards. We played this 2 times and by then we had to skip over so many because we had been through them already. I only paid $12 for it though and got free shipping so the price wasn't bad at all.

(More customer reviews)This is a fantastic board game which is a load of fun. What you do is attempt to move through each year of the 80s (1981, 1982, 1983 etc)... although the year is really rather arbitrary. You answer questions and when you land on the "exit the year" space, you are asked a question and must determine whether or not it happened in the year of the space you are on. For example: You might be sitting on 1982 and the question will be "Top Gun was Released in this Year".
The questions are fair, fun, and of a pleasant mix. My wife and I enjoy playing this game even alone.... so it is fun for 2 or more.
From a person with a collection of 200+ games, I give this game a "Highly Recommend".

Trivial Pursuit: Totally 80s Review

(More customer reviews)The 80s were such a fun and visual decade, it would have been nice if this game had an audio or visual component. A DVD would have been nice. Even if they didn't go the DVD route, if there were cards with pictures and a person had to name the item on the picture (like say a Rubik's cube) that would have been nice.
This is not the only 80s related game on the market. There is "The 80s Game," "Vh-1/Targets We Are The 80s" board game and "Name That Tune 80s Edition."
How does Trivial Pursuit 80s Edition measure up?
The game is nice. When you open the box you find the neatly folded game board. There are four player pieces--a care bear looking bear, a personal computer, a CD and a Trapper Keeper. There is also one die and the other small pieces used with the board game.
Four sets of trivia cards are included. The question categories include Headlines, TV, Movies, Music, Sports & Leisure, and Wild Card.
I will say the questions are better than they are in the I Love The 80s Game. The questions are challenging and varied in nature.
Here are a few sample questions-
"What British hair band topped the chart only one time with "Here I Go Again?" (music)
"What Aaron Spelling show was slated to star Bette Davis in her first weekly series until she took ill and was replaced by Anne Baxter?" (TV)
"What former Speaker of the House cashed in on his celebrity by appearing in ads for American Express and Miller Light?" (WC)
The game also comes with a travel game. The travel game features questions from Trivial Pursuit volume 6 which isn't 80s related.
In the age of Scene It, Trivial Pursuit 80s Edition is essentially another board game--except with 80s related questions. In comparison to the other 80s games on the market, this game has the best question assortment. It will be a fun game to play if you play with people who know a lot about the 80s. However, in my opinion, there is still no ultimate 80s game on the market.
Scene It games aren't always the answer because you can quickly start to see the same clip more than once. Someone needs to design an 80s game with visual card cues, an audio and a DVD component.
Until then, well we can just wait.

Trivial Pursuit: 6th Edition Review

(More customer reviews)Sorry, but Volume 6 does NOT compare to the classic Genus and Genus II versions of this game. Rather, Volume 6 relies heavily on People Magazine-type trivia -- lots of inane pop culture-oriented questions, for which even die-hard trivia fans will be saying "Who cares?" An example of this is a question about Christina Ricci appearing in a GAP commercial. This was in the HISTORY category! Lame! About 40% of the questions seemed to fall into this category. Another 20-30% were ridiculously easy, a further 20% ridiculously obscure. The creators have also ditched the nuanced questioning style of the original game, by which one could often deduce the answer, even when it was something otherwise unknown.
I think the problem here is that TP is issuing too many versions in too short a period of time. Genus 5, which I DO like, came out fairly recently (I think), and I think TP needs to take some more time to write better questions. Part of the fun of TP has been that you learn from the questions you miss. With Volume 6, you just don't care.

Trivial Pursuit 25th Anniversary Edition Review

(More customer reviews)I have love T.P. since it came out in the 1980's. I still have my original, but was happy to update my game with this. Not only do the added levels make this fun, it also allows for my kids to play (with different answer levels we can keep theirs on an easier plane).
My biggest problem is the incorrect answers. We have only played this with the family twice (one session lasted 8 hours...because we did not put in a time limit) the other about 3. Both times we came across questions whose printed answers were incorrect.
For example...History: 5/6 (on difficulty level) "Who was pope immediately prior to John Paul II?" They provide the answer as "Pope Paul VI"...but lest we forget there was a Pope John Paul I who served for about one month as pope after Paul VI,but died in his sleep bringing forth John Paul II. So JP I is the correct answer.
So, as long as you do not mind having a laptop at the ready to double check things like this...or marking up your cards with the correct answers...you will have some fun with this.

(More customer reviews)This is a great item for a Transformer's fan, but defiantly not for someone who intends to use this to actually play chess. Each piece has the symbol of the chess piece it represents, but it does become a bit of a hassle to constantly check which piece is what short of memorizing which transformer represents each piece.
The pieces are a sort of soft plastic material, and the whole set has a smell of spray paint. Again, great collectors item, but not recommended for those who wish to play chess with this chess set.

(More customer reviews)I have the original 80s figure and other than the gun this figure is a perfect replica of the original. The Four Horsemen did a great job on this figure. It is a shame that the 2002 series was cancelled. The good side is that the fans have spoken and there is now a new series of figures being made. If you are a fan of He-man and the Masters of the Universe I would recommend getting this figure and any others you can find.

(More customer reviews)dear customers, i purchased this version of Optimus Prime over three weeks ago and i am still very impressed with it.unlike some usa made versions this one had die-cast metal parts and while not for a very little child :3-5yrs it is vey durable, easy to transform and well worth the price i do wish they had mentioned it stands in robot mode about 7 in. tall but over-all a good product.if i had the money to afford it i would buy a second one to keep in its package. it is that good. five stars over-all

Takara will modify the paint schemes on all the Japanese Classics figures.They are introducing completely different paint on Megatron and Astrotrain, and the other figures all will have chrome added along with slightly different designs to their paint scheme. Classics Optimus Prime looks a little like a mixture between the Gen 1 concept and that of the Dreamwave War Within series. Prime is equipped with his Laser Gun, and a second larger blaster rifle contained with a transformable back plate. The truck mode is an armored juggernaut geared for the annihilation of Decepticon obstacles. (More customer reviews)We got this toy for [$$$] and were thrilled to be getting such a great deal on something we'd seen at the stores for [$$$] or more. However, once I put it together and my 5 year old son started playing with it, the front claws on the beetle kept falling apart, as did the shield that He-Man stands behind. I used super glue to try to hold the thing together and that didn't even work (perhaps I should be complaining to the super glue manufacturer). After a while the antenna, claws, and every other part that could fall off did. It now sits in the corner of my son's room, with half of the pieces missing. I guess I have learned from this experience that you get what you pay for.

Super Mario Brothers Child's Costume, Toad Costume Review

(More customer reviews)My 8 year old wanted to be Toad for Halloween so I carefully read the sizing information on this and other listings and purchased the Medium, which corresponds to a USA size 8-10. After waiting over a week for it to arrive, the packaging clearly states "USA size 8-10...for 5-7 year olds". Shouldn't a size 8-10 fit an 8-10 year old, or did I miss something? This would have been great information to have before I made my purchase. My 3rd grader looks borderline silly in it, and he's not a big kid. So be very careful when selecting your size and save yourself having to deal with costume exchanges before Halloween like me! Other than that, it's a perfectly decent costume.
