(More customer reviews)This figure is really a beautiful item and would look quite nice on anyone's shelf. There is one problem though--the sword. Mine was stuck as one piece when I got it (probably by the painting process) and so, when I tried to detach the bottom part to place it in the figure's hand, it broke off. Some super-glue fixed that right up. You might want to be very very careful when attaching the sword hilt to the figure's hand. Other than that, it's perfect.

(More customer reviews)As a former World of Warcraft player and a long-time board gamer, I was anxious to see how this more affordable, quicker version of the humongous World of Warcraft board game pared down. The box is awesome, the rules are tight, and the components are top notch when they are present. Present, you ask? Well, they decided to print the cards double sided. This way you do a task/quest or fight an encounter and on the other side is the item you found. It makes for awkward card handling and less repeatable future game plays (you'll know if a task is worth the effort).
The game requires you to take on one of the familiar Warcraft classes and each class gets a host of skills/spells to help it along. Unfortunately, some classes just play better on this ruleset than others. This makes for lopsided games rather quickly.
The theme of Warcraft highlights the best of intentions and the worst of gameplay. The board is sectioned off into levels. Green for beginners, yellow for harder, red even harder and so on. Because of the size of the board, there are only a few spaces you can move that will be 'green' level when you start. A few bad encounters early and you are stuck pinned in. If you can't beat the level boss to move to the next tier, it is miserable.
The game truly feels like warcraft in theme. They did an awesome job of tailoring game mechanics to board mechanics. It just does not have the fun element. It is interesting as a game conversion, but fails as a game.

(More customer reviews)Wonderfully made and perfect for the WoW player who has a female priest out there-- I got it for someone who plays a Forsaken, as the priest is in shadowform and while it is meant to be human, it works just as well for a Forsaken. The packaging, while HUGE, really does protect the figure, and she is something you'd want to protect. My only quibble is that she really does need a stand, and a nice one, to properly display her.

World of Warcraft: the Board Game Review

(More customer reviews)I had first read about the World of Warcraft board game in an issue of Game Informer. How could a game as epic as WoW could be made into a board game? What about all the small details everyone loves from the PC game? PvP? Raids? Loot? Rest assured, it's all here.
This game is HUGE. That's the only word for it. There are over 1,000 pieces. Anyone curious about the steep price tag, trust me, you get what you pay for. The pieces are very well sculpted. The character pieces are not painted (would have been nice), and the monsters could not be painted. Monsters are a fairly unattractive array of blue, green and red. Everything else in the box (including the box itself) looks great. The amount of graphics from the PC game are endless. Fans will love to see how much graphic detail was put into the visuals of this game.
Like many of FFG's games, there are a ton of rules. They aren't hard, there's just alot. I won't go into detail on them, but instead say what I don't like. The setup time for this game takes forever. There's just so many pieces and cards that need to be set up and distributed. If you have several players and everyone helps, it isn't so bad. But if it's just two players, get ready for 30-45 minutes of setup.
The game is extremely long. Not really a bad thing, since it is alot of fun, but the downtime between each player's turn can make for some boredom. The more players, the worse it is.
And my third and final gripe is that there really isn't an incentive to fight independent monsters. Some monsters are fought to complete quests, but random monsters are "generated" with each new quest card. And independent monsters are tough! It's mandatory to fight them if you encounter them, and being as difficult as they are, some reward should have been given. This problem is addressed in the expansion "Shadow of War."
Fans of the PC game curious about the game shouldn't be deterred by my comments however. This is a great buy for any WoW fan with alot of time to kill. It's not perfect, but impressive none the less.

(More customer reviews)[...], and they continue to struggle in the key area of displayability. The undead shown here is no different. Despite a great sculpt, the figure simply refuses to stand outside the packaging. On his last fall, the flair on his shoulders snapped off. All of them.
This seems to be a major problem for a majority of the line. While some pieces, like the orc shaman, night elf druid, and blood elf paladin seem to have been created with stances wide enough to make them stable, most of the others simply aren't centered well enough. Even pieces with added base support, like the blood elf rogue and tauren hunter still fall over on a regular basis.
If you're going to collect, and leave them in their cases, then these are a great buy. Chances are likely, however, that you'll only find yourself frustrated if you try to display them.

It was kinda of strange cause the set I received was sealed, I also looked everywhere. I'm not complaining really, I will find out a way to have it standed up. (More customer reviews)Not sure what to tell you. It looks just like the picture. It did come packaged in a hilarious oversized box, that I can only assume was a joke. The banner came folded at the bottom of a 3 x 2 x 1 foot box, stuffed full of those air packing things. But as the banner is a thin piece of cloth that hardly measures half an inch thick, it was not needed. At least it wasn't damaged in transit! The folded nature of the packing did mean that the banner has some creases in, but you can simply iron those out. Looks good hanging on my wall.

World of Warcraft Series 1 Valeera Sanguinar Blood Elf Rogue Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)At the time I got Valeera action figure, I gave it 2 stars.
I began my collection of WoW action figures, and this was the last one I got.
This is by far the cheapest single action figure made in the series. While the visual concept and the looks (from far) seems cool, at close you can notice that there was little love when making the details, it is poorly constructed, there were errors in the painting, the sword was a horrible looking.. it looked like a "toy sword", instead of a "real sword".
I put a stop to my prejudice and included this figure to my collection set. The problem is that it had some problems standing on its own (if you notice carefully in the product image, it has 2 circular transparent plastic panels at its feet that works as support). Anyways, it could stand on its own, and I went away, kind of happy...
2 weeks later, the toy began falling, lost its balance, the feet panels were kind of umbalanced. My quick solution, after many falls, was to put the draeni action figure panel on 1 foot, as aditional support. It worked, still does.
You know, the prob was that, the total weight of the toy, over time, made it bend. (Same issue has the Illidan figure - also from Series 1 - because the weight of the wings at the back is too much).
So, it bends, and today, I noticed Valeera is almost kissing the ground now. It has been 3 months after I purchased it (was brand new).
I uploaded a photo on the image product gallery. I hope it goes thru.
Overall opinion: if you are a collector, and decide to keep top quality on the Wow Series, skip this one. It is the only one that it doesnt fit on quality. Seriously.

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a joke, and because I knew I was going to need some caffeine in my system over the weekend. I've downed Bawls of every flavor without issue, and generally don't really get buzzed by caffeine.
But this stuff... this stuff is unique. First of all, while the bottle is pretty, it is the nastiest, most disgusting taste I have ever had the misfortune to let near my mouth. I instantly regretted the cough syrup like drink. Thick, dank, and putrid it slid down my throat and settled in my stomach like a stone lump.
And there it sat, oozing and slithering, until it finally hit my system.
I felt like I had gone from zero to sixty in less than a second. No, there was no gradual build up of energy, there was nothing, and then there was everything! I was twitching, insane almost, desperate to do anything and everything at once. Raid MC, knit a pair of socks, learn three foreign languages at the same time, watch all of Firefly, chat with friends, write a letter to dear grandmama, study calculus, program my own dungeon, and then I crashed.
It was like hitting a brick wall while rolling down a hill in a garbage can. There was too much energy, and then none at all. Uncontrolled explosions in my system followed by an oxygen vent to finally put them out, and the crew dying a fast and miserable death.
If you think the concept of the Mana potion is cool, then buy one. It is pretty, and it is a cool thing to look at. But be warned, this stuff is the closest thing to weaponized caffeine I have ever experienced in my life. From now on I'm sticking to Bawls, and staying away from little bottles that all but scream 'drink me'.

World of Warcraft Meryl Felstrom Undead Warlock Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)I've been playing World of Warcraft since its release. The horde undead warlock is by far my favorite and most enduring character. I was looking for a decent replica figure of my character and was delighted to find this one. His outfit closely resembles my current arena gear setup and he does look mean. Box presentation is nice and could easily be displayed mib. Out of box, he stands about 7.5 inches high and seems solid.
One disappointment is that this is not a very poseable figure. The arms and wrists can move slightly to adjust weapon position. His head, body, and legs do not move. I guess he was made to display rather than play. Thats fine by me because he looks perfect sitting on my computer desk. He comes with a large staff (longer than he is) and it holds securely in his hands. He stands firm and does not wobble. The skulls embedded into his armor are my favorite.
I am happy with this figure as it makes an excellent display piece. I think a child looking for play factor would not be as happy.

World of Warcraft Deluxe Collector Figure: Illidan (Demon Form) Review

(More customer reviews)This is the deluxe collectible action figure, the demon-lord Illidan, in the World of Warcraft storyline. Those who are familiar with the Burning Crusade expansion will be very familiar with this character and his place in the game lore. In a nutshell, he is a former Night Elf that was so consumed with power that he betrayed his own kind (all of Azeroth really), became a sorceror, and now terrorizes Outland from his evil dwelling called the Black Temple. As for the figure itself, it is on par with the best models in the WoW collector line. The quality of the sculpt is great, and I was surprised by the ability to manipulate a few points of articulation: the head and fist weapons.
First of all, this figure has an included base, and even though it is a plain black dial, with no special features, it makes the model very sturdy for display purposes. If you have any of this series (or the earlier ones), you will know that there have been complaints about the action figures not standing on their own too well, often falling over at the slightest movement of the surface you display them upon. This is very true on many of the line, but it appears that DC Limited has taken note of this complaint and provided a good base to prevent tipping. Though I would like to see some improvements now on the base itself, perhaps taking a page from McFarlane or other companies that make collectible action figures, and add some detail to the base to improve the overall display. However, simply including a base is great news for the series as they have been plagued with issues as some of the others simply won't stand on their own.
You will need to attach his wings when removed from the box, but the fit was perfect and it simply looks amazing when displayed. I tested the fit by 'shaking' the figure after attaching the wings, and they stayed perfectly in place. His fist weapons can also be removed, or 'folded out' for a different look. This, and a head that can be turned, were surprises for me. Creating a few points of articulation is a great addition to the figures, and I hope the trend continues.
If you are an avid fan of World of Warcraft, I highly recommend this figure to remind you of the great adventures you have in the computer game. If you are just an avid collector of quality fantasy figures, World of Warcraft player or not, this would be a great addition to your collection. And finally, if you are a collector of the WoW action figures, this is a must have for the series.

When I received the Night Elf, I was amazed at the detail and quailty that went into crafting the item, and completely blown away by the size - I was expecting this dinky, cheap looking toy. I wouldn't recommend this item for young children.

I still like what i got, but what you see in the picture is much better, the pose is more dynamic. This particular figure was due out in Nov '09 but was delayed till Jan '10, which might give some insight on there being 2 different figures. I will post a picture of what you really get.
