(More customer reviews)Well the item comes in a very nice colourfull, sturdy box, with the logo Battlestar Gallactica RAZOR, and a picture of the contents on the front.The sides of the box show the logo of Pegasus,very nice in my opinion. The Raider itself is nicely done and looks the part, with good crisp detail on the whole to both top, and the underside of the ship. The cannons look the part with reasonble detail and although there is nothing wrong with them I feel they could have been done a bit better, but maybe thats me being over critical.There is a small degree of weathering to the ship which I feel could have been extended to the cockpit which is too much of a shiny black. To be critical if you hold the Raider to the light there are a few tiny casting flaws these however are really not that noticable but are there. The ship itself makes a nice visual display piece and captures the look of the heavy raider. The stand that it sits on is well designed and looks the part, and I feel fits in with the cylon image.In all a nice item that I feel could be made better by anyone who cared to add a bit more weathering highlights but again maybe thats just me not wanting a pristine looking vessel . The main reason I gave this 4 out of the five stars is mainly down to the pristine look of the ship which makes it a bit toy like, but some people prefer them that way. This now stands alonside my cylon raider and I have to say the two make great display pieces. Im sure in time I will appreciate them more and more.

The Battlestar Galactica: Razor: Raider Statue measures 8a? across, is limited to 2,007 pieces, features a hand numbered base with matching box, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Mounted atop a sculptured black base, this version of the Raider is a vaguely moth-shaped vessel with an overall grim, utilitarian appearance. Similar to the versions featured in the original 1980 series, this Cylon Raider was among the array unleashed 40 years earlier during the first Cylon War. During the events of BSG: Razor, the antiquated Raiders reemerged to attack the Pegasus.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Enterprise D Ship Review

(More customer reviews)After a long long wait due to the extended delays from Art Asylum (AA) for their rendition of the the USS Enterprise-D, all I can say that it was well worth the wait. This toy or model is near perfection that the reason for the delay was probably because Art Asylum wanted it to be perfect. Well, almost perfect. I'll explain the flaws later. Overall, they got the model right. Unlike their Enterprise-E which was a disappointment, the Ent-D in my opinion is a winner. Every tiny bit of detail on the ship from all the painted windows to the tiny ship registrations on some parts of the hull, down to the colour scheme of the ship, the guys from AA have not missed a single detail, well except for the missing windows on the neck section of the engineering section. Kinda disappointed abt this as there were windows on the prototype models prior to its development... Other than that, this model is just perfect and a great model to represent the Galaxy Class Enterprise-D. This one knocks the Playmates Ent-D in terms of details that was released many years ago off the shelve.
Now for the flaws that is really bugging me. I can't get the battery compartment on the engineering section to open!!! It requires some prying which would damage the hull slightly surrounding the battery compartment. Once opened, there is a switch inside where you can activate it to from "Try Me" mode to "Play" mode. You can also switch it off. This is a design flaw on Art Asylum's part. Even the batt compartment on the saucer section is difficult to remove without damaging the paint job.
And lastly, the display stand. Due to the saucer section, the model tend to be top heavy, so you will have to find the right balancing spot to display the ship. Otherwise, the ship will just topple forward and you risk damaging it. In my opinion, AA shd have used a different display stand for the Ent-D.
The main attraction of this model is the saucer separation. And this gimmick is very well done! Probably another reason for the delay from Art Asylum as they wanted to make it close to perfection. Indeed they have and I'm pretty satisfied with it. The magnet used is probably the most powerful magnet ever used in a toy! You can simply pull off the saucer section with a bit of force and it will come off.. And don't worry about the saucer coming off while on display, don't worry coz it won't... The magnet is just too strong.
But please be careful while attaching the saucer section back to the engineering section. The magnet is very powerful and once the saucer is close enough, the magnet will pull the saucer into the secondary hull with a lot of force, this will risk damaging or breaking the pegs underneath the saucer. The best way to attach the saucer back is by sliding your hand in between the magnets so that the force will not be as great, from there, you will slowly adjust the saucer to its appropriate position.
Model comes with two display stand, one for the saucer section, and the other for the engineering section.
In conclusion, a must have for Star Trek fans, especially fans of The Next Generation series such as myself. Minus the flaws mentioned above such as the battery compartment cover and the missing windows on the neck section etc, this is one of the better releases from Art Asylum thus far and you can see that they have put in a lot of effort for the Ent-D. Highly recommended!!!

Vintage 1994 Star Trek Generation Captain James T Kirk in space suit Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, I admit it, I'm a lover of Star Trek and all the associated stuff. Always have been always probably will be. 'Nuff said. Now what is cool about this particular item, is it truly is an insider's thing. When the movie "Generations" came out, all the associated gear, toys, and what all did as well. Obviously Playmates had an advance copy of the script since the scene in which Kirk wore this suit, wasn't in the final production. I picked up one in Toys R Us and thought "Score"! I read about this scene in the book, but it never was in the movie until recently when the movie was released onto DVD, where you can see the scene where Kirk is "Orbital Jumping" for thrills in the deleted scenes.
