(More customer reviews)I had ordered this set for my boss as a Christmas gift. As she is a big fan of both Elvis and Poker, I thought that it would be a slam dunk...and it was!!! I was surpisingly impressed with the case that the set came in, it is a cushy white and has gold stars attached to it. The cards hold up well and on the "King" cards there is a photograph of Elvis on the face side. I was most concerned about the weight of the chips, as that can make-or-break a poker set. Although these chips aren't as heavy as a professional set, they are clay and have a nice feel to them (not the light plastic chip that I was concerned about getting).
I would recommend this set for the "casual" poker player or even something to put on display as a conversation piece. For $40.00 I am extremely pleased!!!

(More customer reviews)McFarland Toys does a pretty good job of rendering Elvis which is a difficult thing to do because his features are not easy to capture as evidenced by so many of the poor looking Elvis dolls out there. This doll very much captures Elvis in action from the movie and completes the set I have so far.

The game of Yahtzee has been a family tradition and we Love Elvis! What a perfect match! The box and the game pieces are good enough even if we didn't love the game! The first Yahtzee we had was Disney! The Yahtzee game is so fun and easy to play! The only rule we have is that you HAVE to put the dice back into the cup and give it to the next player BEFORE you write down your score because the next player is always excited to roll! Everyone will love this game!

Collector's Edition Boxed Set Elvis '68 Special Review

(More customer reviews)I'll give this toy kudos for originality but the quality of the toy was terrible! I swear it takes a person with a PhD in Engineering to figure out how to put the toy together. Elvis' chair broke apart while I was trying to assemble it. My suggestion is that if you're going to buy this toy, keep it in its box and display the box (plus it might be an investment in the long run). If you want to remove the toy from the box, have some super glue handy because you will need it. In theory the idea of the Elvis Comeback '68 toy was genius, but in reality the quality of the toy was bad. The only durable part of the toy was the Elvis doll himself. This is sad, a toy that's supposed to be a tribute to Elvis turned out to be of poor quality. Elvis would have been disappointed....

Elvis and Priscilla Barbie Doll Giftset Review

(More customer reviews)I was lucky enough to get my Elvis and Priscilla dolls for a lesser price than this particular retailer is asking. Your best bet, however, would be to buy the dolls from Amazon as they are impossible to find in brick-and-mortar stores (such as Walmart, Target) after selling-out of them in early August.
The dolls are beautiful and nicely packaged. They are NOT positioned hand-in-hand like in the picture, but rather side-by-side in the box. The dolls are 11.5 inches high which makes them as tall as your average Barbie.
Mattel did both Priscilla and Elvis justice in making the dolls look very real; so often we see dolls made to look like their famous originals and don't even come close in likeness. Elvis and Priscilla were/are very beautiful people and the dolls certainly duplicate their likeness.
As far as durability goes, well, if you keep them in their box [as they were meant to be] they should be fine, though I highly recommend plastic casing to preserve the rather high value they [most certainly] will attain in the future. My box was not seeled all the way around leaving open gaps in the box allowing dust to get in - further proving the need for a case. However, if you are going to let the kiddies play with these dolls, they should hold up just as well as your average Barbie doll. Priscillas hair will probably get knotted/matted with child's play.
For educational value I gave these dolls 3 stars for the brief wedding bio on the box and for the replication of the Priscilla's wedding gown, Elvis' paisley tux and boots (Priscilla's feet cannot be seen without opening the box so I am unsure what type of shoe she's wearing), and their wedding bands - hey, this is history! There are also 2-3 wedding photos on the box.
My overall rating was 4 stars simply because I would have preferred Elvis's hair to have been fabric (like Priscilla's) instead of plastic. I do believe the reasoning behind the plastic is so that the hair keeps hold of Elvis' famous swooped-'do and shine. Besides that, these dolls in my opinion, are just fantastic. I am sure any bride/groom would be happy to receive this set as a gift.
These dolls will certainly be a treasure to fans, Barbie collectors, and the young and old at heart.
