(More customer reviews)This Takara Grimlock is really a very nice toy. As with all Dinobots however the whole idea of a "robot in disguise" is a completely defeated purpose with this guy. Honestly if you see a giant metallic tyrannosaurus rex walking down the street you may wonder who thought that was a good way to hide? (After you run away in horror of course!)
In any case he really is a nice piece for any classics line collection. His dinosaur mode is very articulate with a nice modern look as to the biological design of the creature he represents. One word of warning though, be careful of the spring loaded missile! It is very powerful and can be lost quite easily since it flies so far. Other than that he has nice chrome paint and that little extra detail that makes Takara figures so nice!
In robot mode he is a well made representation of the Grimlock we all knew from the original series. The back cannon can be put into either hand and the tail has four very durable joints that offer you a highly articulated melee weapon. Also he has a very nice autobot symbol within the red piece on his chest. More little details that Takara likes to add!
Overall I would only recommend this figure to the serious collector. It is nice to have but really not the best transformer you can find on the market today.

Takara will modify the paint schemes on all the Japanese Classics figures.They are introducing completely different paint on Megatron and Astrotrain, and the other figures all will have chrome added along with slightly different designs to their paint scheme. The current images are stock images from Takara of existing Hasbro products, and do not represent the final product that will be shipped.We have confirmed that the packaging will be the same as the US packaging, but a Japanese sticker of some sort will be attached to the box.The Classics version of Grimlock plays on the conception of the tyrannosaurus as a sleeker faster-moving biped as opposed to a tripod-stance type. Easily one of the best figures in the supremely cool Classics line, Grimlock is intricately detailed and heavily articulated in both dino and robot modes. Grimlocka?TMs handheld bayoneted gun (this version with a solid black bayonet blade) serves his dino mode as a back-mounted cannon. Grimlocka?TMs thick multi-segmented tail can be detached and used (in robot mode) as a king of bludgeon or sword.

Transformers Takara Masterpiece Collection MP-08 Grimlock Review

(More customer reviews)This Masterpiece Grimlock is, ironically, supposed to be the smallest of the lot (while he was one of the biggest in the comics/show). That doesn't matter as it's crammed with features and gimmicks, fantastic detail and awesome possibility in both modes. This is a must buy for a collector and while a lot of the features do feel a little delicate be honest, you don't care.
With his price tag he's going to spend most of his life in a cabinet anyway. Even if he is hard to put down, the articulation is truly impressive, as are the bright shiny teeth.

MP-08 Masterpiece Grimlock is a plastic/die-cast figure accompanied by a handful of accessories including Grimlocka?TMs Energo Sword, the intelligence-transfer device from the episode a??Grimlocka?TMs New Braina? and Grimlocka?TMs beverage tray from the episode a??Madmana?TMs Paradisea?. Grimlocka?TMs right fist features an LED function. In keeping with the Gen 1 source material, MP-08 Grimlock is based upon the nostalgic tripod-stance concept of the tyrannosaurs; his robot mode offers a wider range of articulation than the Gen 1 version, and is reminiscent of his appearance in the original cartoon. Grimlocka?TMs acrid disdain for weakness is rivaled only by his hostility towards those who use superior strength to victimize weaker life forms. Grimlock and his fellow Dinobots, having defected more than once from the Autobot ranks, lend assistance to Optimus Prime generally with grudging reluctance.

Snarl - Transformers Cybertron Deluxe Review

(More customer reviews)I have loved Transformers since childhood. I could go on for days about how happy I am with the last two American incarnations Energon & Cybertron and the Collector's Alternator Series (I collect Japanese transformers as well), but this review is about Snarl so on to it.
Snarl is my favorite Jungle Planet TF from the Cybertron series. The mold for this bot is very different from most beast-style TFs as the front legs of the wolf mode fold up and lock together inside the torso actually giving the torso bulk. I also like that Snarl's mold is a non-symmetrical or non-traditional robot; in that the wolf's head is his right hand. With the front legs hiding inside the torso the only real nod, in robot mode, to its alternate wolf form is the wolf head right hand, unlike many other beast-style TFs with useless animal limbs hanging out on their backs.
For those of you inflicted with children: Snarl is well constructed and will hold up against their mindless abuse and is worth the money to entertain your little knee-biting drool-beast.
For the collectors out there: Snarl is a unique and inventive mold with a great icy color scheme that will make a great addition to your TF collection. You should also look for the Shadow Snarl (aka Knight Wolf) black and gray repaint.
