Captain of the Maximal research vessel Axalon, Optimus Primal was forced into the role of a warrior in the Beast Wars. He rose up to become one of the greatest heroes in the history of Cybertron. His fate is tied in a fundamental way to that of the mad arch-villain Megatron. Optimus Primal knows this, and understands that it is he -- and he alone -- who must pursue Megatron across time and space in order to put a stop once and for all to his evil plans.
This detailed robot figure changes into an impressive beast machine and back again. He can ride the "jet-powered" hover board, or use it as a weapon with its firing projectile and snap-open assault blade. Figure comes with hover board, projectile, Maximal ship Axalon and comic book. (More customer reviews)In Beast Wars Transmetals, Tigatron and Airazor wer'e combined by something called the Vok. The reason I knocked off a star for durability is that he has a gimmick that when you pull a tab, the wings come down, feathers pop up, and missle launchers flip around and fire on their own. Why is that problem? It gets in the way of transformation which is kinda hard. He is in the same class as Optimal Optimus and Dragon Megatron. It would be nice if they made it so you could dismantle it for transformation but what are ya gonna do. I recomend it for animal mode most. I prefer that mode much more than robot mode and transformation is very hard.

(More customer reviews)this is my second of this figure, i used to have him in my collection until i was 15 (my last foster parents took my beast wars figures away because they didn't like the way they look, nutjob bible freaks). btw, i have nothing against religions, it's just that the foster family i was with before i was sent to a group home were worse than carrie's mother. and if you've read the book or seen the movie, you'll know who i'm comparing them to. now on to the figure from what i remember he is one of the "flip-formers" line, so transforming him is very easy. decent articulation for a basic class, plus the ball-joints really come in handy, especially for when you pretend he's had some battle damage. his weapon pieces are stored under the wing case, they form into a crossbow, very innovative for a transformer, since almost all of them use either a gun or a sword, or both. and the weapon storage compartments also look like a jetpack of some sort, so he'd probably fly if he were in the cartoon or comic books. and since the beetle legs are part of his robot arms, i used to pretend they were machine guns like original tarantulas and blackarachnia. he's a nice figure for your collection, i recommend getting him from amazon's bigbadtoystore branch if yur looking for a cheap one. most old transformers' prices get very high online as the years go by.
