Misty May is the magical anime girl character created by the hero of Studio Gainax's classic 1991 anime, Otaku No Video, a comedy anime not only spoofing the life and culture of Japanese "otaku" (basically, the Japanese equivalent of a "fanboy") but the history of Studio Gainax and its creators as well! (More customer reviews)Well, it's not exactly a toy, more of a knicknack for your display shelf. But it's an excellent one. The quality of this item is superb, especially considering the price. The paint job is great (though the skin color isn't painted on, it is just the color of the material... the clothes and hair are what are painted).
The detail work on this figurine is impressive. The skin is a good color, the eyes and face are well done, and the paint on the clothing and such is even and uniform. The tiles in the base are alternating flat black and mirror and look very nice.
Only caveat is as follows: The barstool she sits on DOES swivel, which if you are not careful, lets you drag the heel of her boot across the tiles of the base. If the heel drags firmly across the base, some of the paint from the heel of the shoe WILL mark the tile, so just be careful with it.
Overall, this is an excellent piece that will look right at home on any figurine collector's shelf, I bought one and am very happy with what I have received. Also, the company was very prompt with shipping and delivery.
Fun = 5 (It's great)
Educational = 2 (aside from a little gravity-defying anatomy lessons, not much really to be learned here, but that's not the point, now, is it?)
Durability = 3 (be careful not to let the paint rub off on the base as described above. But really, you shouldn't be handling this, it's an item for display, not an action figure!)
Overall = 5 (Taking it for what it is, you couldn't make a better purchase for this sort of item.)

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Emiri Kimidori Purple Bunny Version PVC Figure 1/4 Scale Review

(More customer reviews)This is part of a series of seven limited edition MOHS Bunny Girls. They are now out of production so prices are going up on the remaining stock. I've had Ms. Kimidori for a coulpe of years now and she still sits proudly without issue. This particular line of figurines are 1/4 scale solid PVC. It makes them tough and heavy. She is fully painted and 100% assembled. An added bonus for realism is the fact that the creators used real nylon weave to make the stockings.
About my ratings... I rated this figurine as have zero educational value since it doesn't. It's not a toy, nor is it for children. By the content of the picture I don't think I need to say more. Also, the durability is a 3 of 5 (my standard rating for any PVC figurine.) Although tougher that resin figurines, PVC and the other materials used are hardly indestructable. If left for display, she will sit proudly for many years, if handed constantly then it will take it's toll.
