(More customer reviews)I found this in a little hobby store at the mall a long time ago. It's just a simple card game where you try to take over Europe in the 1940s. Unlike Magic (and similar games), the decks have been premade for you. You can, however, buy expansion packs at DGA's website, though they too are preconstructed for your use. There are also other starter sets available, each taking place in a different theatre of World War II.
That all being said, I have greatly enjoyed playing this game with my near 70 year old grandfather. We're both into strategy games and I suppose that's why I get hooked on card games. The website and rulebook say a simple two-player game in a single theater should take a couple hours. However, we always seem to take a lot more time than that. We've come to the conclusion that it's because we're not aggressive enough to keep on the offense, so we've had to modify the rules we play by slightly.
To sum up, if you'd like to get into playing card games but are afraid of building your own decks (or wasting a lot of money on Decipher), you could start with this. For all those who like other card games but get frustrated with not finding those darn rare cards, you should like this too.
