It requires channel selection on the case/remote and vehicle itself, with an on/off switch. Once it is turned on and placed on a flat surface, it is actually faster than it appears. The kids love this item. In terms of its durability, remember that it does "fold" flat when pressed on the top "vertex" above the cockpit and requires a bit of force to get it to lock in place. Once locked in "flat" position, it actually retains that shape until you press the release button. The controls take some getting used to in terms of turning left or right but other than that it is a nice pocket replica of the movie vehicle and great for table top obstacle courses or racing. We are happy with the purchase.

The R/C Nano Rides Batmobile Tumbler transforms from an otherwise inauspicious-looking flat piece of plastic into a three-dimensional, functioning R/C vehicle. Requisitioned by Bruce Wayne from obscurity in Wayne Enterprises; Applied Sciences Division, the Tumbler, initially tested and further modified by Wayne, served as a means of solidifying Batmana?TMs edge against Gotham Citya?TMs rampant criminal element. Outfitted with a reconfigurable driving cockpit, the heavily-armored Tumbler provides the option of ejecting the smaller Batpod cycle vehicle. Outfitted with a jet engine and stealth mode capacity, the Tumbler is equipped with frontward auto-cannons and a rocket launcher-powered grapnel. In Batman Begins, the previously disillusioned Bruce Wayne, having received intensive training with the League of Shadows, returns to Gotham City with the intension of undermining mob boss Carmine Falcone and Gothama?TMs corrupt police force. Further investigation of Falcone brings to light a new villain, the Scarecrow, and the lattera?TMs scheme to flood Gothama?TMs water supply with a fear-inducing hallucinogenic. In The Dark Knight the Tumbler used during Batmana?TMs pursuit and capture of the Scarecrow was later utilized as a countermeasure against the incendiary mayhem generated by the Jokera?TMs rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
