I fall into the second crowd and when given this item as a gift thought "whoopie"(in the most sarcastic sense). Imange my suprise when I had to retract the sentiment! Not only did I enjoy working on this puzzle so did my kids. It was simple to install the software, easy to upload an image, crop it and print the icon map and fun to put together! Mosaic art is it's own style, if you stand back a bit the resulting image is definitely my dog. It says on the box you can redo the puzzle over and over, again my skepticism reard it's ugly head. And again it was squashed.. the pieces are suprisingly sturdy, easy to interlock and take back apart and look like they will indeed work for multiple sessions. I can see buying this item as a gift for grandparents and friends to enjoy. It took us about 1.5 to 2 hours to finish the puzzle and we will be doing it again with the visitors over the holidays. Changing the "map" into a reconizable personal image has a nice suprise factor. And to all my family reading this it does not mean I want to do the 3,000 piece puzzle of the Lichtenstein Castle you have in the closet!

(More customer reviews)My 8 year old just got this for his birthday. He's been having loads of fun with it. It's easy to control. Too loud to truly be sneaky but still fun. The video camera quality is quite good and the monitor on the remote is good as well. Nice resolution, but keep in mind it is a toy not a cell phone. It can clearly see across a 15ft room in light and the night vision will see a good 7ft with all the lights out. We haven't done any of the advanced computer-linked stuff or downloaded apps or that, so I can't comment on that, but it seems there are some advanced programming options to explore as he gets older.
There is a slight delay between the video/audio the camera receives and what you see/hear on the monitor but once you get used to it, it's easy to work with.
The camera will record video and still pictures and of course show where you are driving around. 10 AA batteries are required as well. 6/robot 4/remote
If there were one thing I would improve, I wish it had the ability for the camera to look up/down by remote control. You can adjust the camera up/down with your hand but once it's set it stays in that position until you manually adjust it. Not a big deal really. My son didn't even know it would move up/down at all until I showed him and he'd been having tons of fun seeing everything at feet level.
Seems like a quality well constructed toy that will provide entertainment for a long time.

(More customer reviews)Note that this toy just glows. It does not actually cast any light. In fact the instructions inside the box say, "The flexible cables and tips will glow red!" That is a true statement. And it is in fact pretty neat to see the cables turn red with light. However, it does not actually cast a beam of light, and thus it cannot illuminate anything. As a lover of flashlights, my five year old was a bit disappointed to discover that. The product description should be more clear.
