(More customer reviews)My husband has an obsession with Lego Exo-Force. When I saw this I had to get it for him. We actually like to build them together. It took about an hour, maybe a bit more with the 2 of us working on it. It was a lot of fun :) I would imagine that this would be great for children, both to train them in dexterity as well as skills in following directions, which leads to a great reward :D

LEGO EXO-Force Striking Venom Review

(More customer reviews)Of all the new 2006 sets, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. At 50 bucks, it's a pretty good deal. It clearly looks good enough! But is it really worth it?
The build consists of the main central core, the cockpit, and the legs. I have to say, 2/3rds of the build are in the legs, and they are all identical to each other, so you or your young one may be a bit frustrated after completion of the 2nd or 3rd leg. More on this later. The core has a rotating...uh, gattling gun type of contraption on the top, with the light brick built in. It also features the new mini-disc launcher (which I find alittle annoying since the discs fall everywhere if you play with it while loaded).
Now, about those legs. Don't be fooled! Attached to the main body, they don't move from side-to-side, only up and down. They also don't have hinges anywhere in the legs, so it'll permanently be at a fixed "L" shape. This was a disappointment for me, since I know if LEGO wanted to give it fully articulated legs, it would have done so. It reminds me of one of those claw contraptions from one of those plush toy grabbing games in arcades. On an up note, the joints used to connect to the body are all-new clicking-joint parts, and they hold poses very well.
It has lots of the Iron Drones includes (6), so your Exo-Force team can have a small army to stop. Another odd inconsistency is on the box, it boasts having the completed "Gold Robot" (Meca One) included, but when you build him, he has no legs!!! He is built into the model. Don't think you're getting 100% of the big baddie! You'll have to buy Sentai Fortress or the Bridge Walker VS White Lightning set to get him whole.
Aside these problems, I enjoy this set. It looks really cool, and the color scheme is great. I think there are a number of things that could've improved the set, but that may be a challenge if you enjoy MOC tinkering. It's fairly large, and needs all 4 legs to hold it, so make sure you have lots of surface place to display it!

Hybrid Rescue Tank Review

(More customer reviews)My eight year old son really likes this Lego tank. For a Lego toy (let's face it, some of them fall apart pretty easily), it's very sturdy. Also, it has a spinning turret, a rotating cannon, and the tank treads work. The turret on top also detaches as a flying attack ship and can be played with separately. It comes with a few mini-figures too! I don't know about you, but sometimes my kiddos' favorite part(s) of a whole Lego set are the mini figures. I think this set is a good Lego value also. There are many Lego sets that cost a lot more and you get a lot less for the higher price. This tank is sturdy, good sized and has a number of play options. One of our best Lego purchases, especially for the price.

LEGO 8103 Sky Guardian Review

(More customer reviews)My son got this for Christmas and has had a lot of fun with it. It looks great and has lots of pieces. The only problem is the little ball that shoots out of the gun falls out when you lower the arm. Other than that, it's worth the money.
