(More customer reviews)When I saw this online, I got so excited that I ordered it without reading close enough. This is a doll made to look like the puppet from the show. I thought that it was actually a working puppet (considering the price)so I was pretty disappointed when I opened the box to find he was only a plush.
That being said, he is an awesome doll and the quality is amazing. They did not cut corners on his body or clothing. He's even wearing socks and his jacket pockets are real.
I only gave him a 3 because of my personal issue with him not being a puppet. If I had wanted a basic plush I would have given him a 5 for sure.

(More customer reviews)i have just started to watch the show "Angel" i have never seen buffy before but i knew i'd like angel anyway. after watching the first few episodes i fell in love with the show and its characters. but(spoilers) after i saw Doyle die i didnt think i would like any other character that would take his place. but boy was i wrong as soon as wesley came into the show i loved him. and i needed an action figure of him. and i got the parting gifts figure, base n his first apperance on the show. all i can say is that this figure is awesome. the accesories are awesome, the crossbow the ax and the weapons closet. the ony thing i had a problem with are his glasses they wont fit on him and they look ridiculous to boot. the leather jacket looks fantastic. and the inclusion of the two motorcyle helmets, one black and one pink(from one episode)over all this is my favorite of all the wesley figures i could have gotten

Season 3 Fred Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)After spending five years as a "cow" in Pylea, Winifred "Fred" Burkle was rescued by Angel and company, and returned to Los Angeles. Joining the cast of "Angel" for the show's third season, Fred (played by Amy Acker), proved to have a brilliant mathematical mind, a detailed knowledge of physics and science, and a natural ability to designing weapons out of pretty much nothing (or anything). Although Wesley Wyndham-Pryce fell for her, Fred fell for Gunn (whose first action figure we are still waiting for). In the show's fifth season when Angel took over the Los Angeles office of Wolfram & Hart, Fred became the head of the firm's science division. However, when Joss Whedon would have his cast over at his house on weekends to read Shakespeare plays aloud, Acker did such a great job doing the queens that Whedon decided to come up with a way for her to do that on "Angel." As a result, goodbye, Fred and hello, Illyria.
This is the Season 3 figure of Fred, representing the time when she was still getting used to living in a world with Mexican food and finding it hard to come out of her room. The sculpt of Amy Acker's face is well above average for these figures from "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." My only real complaint is that they are all the same size even though the characters are not the same height, but nothing is ever going to be done about that so I should forget about it and move on. Wearing an oragne Palm Beach Boxing club t-shirt and white cargo pants, this six-inch action figure has 14 ponts of articulation and comes with a base representing the Hyperio Hotel, featuring Fred's post-Pylea drawings and scriblings on the wall, which would make it one of the most detailed walls we have seen in these second generation Diamond Select Toys to date. In terms of accessories we have a carton of Chinese food, microscope, physics book, portral book, and an axe-thrower.
They came up with a interesting series of figures for Amy Acker's character, that show her transformation from Fred Burkle to Illyria. You start off with this Fred figure, and then there is the "Shells Illyria" figure, which has her wearing a blouse and skirt like Fred but her hair is turning blue and there are blue markings on her face and arms (it must be noted the "Shells Illyria" figure comes with Feigenbaum the bunny, which really should be with this Fred figure, although the Chinese food carton is a nice touch). Then we have the full-blown Illyria figure, all decked out in her armor with a sword and axe, ready to rock and roll. Obviously if you display all three of them at once you want to lay them out this way left to right so show the transformation. With figures of Angel, Cordelia, Wesley, Lorne and even Darla from "Angel," all we really need to complete our sets would be Gunn, Connor (as a teenager, and not as the baby we have at this point from one of the Angel figures), and Doyle from Angel Investigations. Then again, we would not mind have Lindsey, Lilah and maybe even Jasmine from the other side of the fight between good and evil.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Deluxe Once More With Feeling Buffy Action Figure Review

With over 60 six-inch action figures from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" it struck me as rather strange that I only had two figures of the Slayer herself while having eight Willows and seven Spikes, not to mention more figures of Tara, Darla, and Cordelia than I had of Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself. That has been rectified this summer with the release of three sets of figures of Buffy and Faith (ironically the packaging has the above quote about there only being one Slayer despite the fact obvious there is not--and when do we get our Kendra figure?). Although they are sold separately, you have a set of figures from Season 3's "Graduation Day" with Buffy and Faith fighting each other wearing their leather jackets, or fighting side-by-side in the series finale "End of Days." Then we have a mismatched set, which consists of this "Once More With Feeling" Buffy from Season 6 of "BtVS" and another Season 3 Faith figure from "Bad Girls."
"Once More With Feeling," of course, is the episode where Buffy gets to sing. She is dressed in a red long sleeve shirt and black pants. Since she has a pool cue that means this figure represents the first two verses of the song "Life" that comes at the climax of the episode when Buffy confronts Sweet. As she sings the first verse ("Life a show/And we all play our parts") Buffy unbuttons her jacket, opens it and drops it to the floor. As she signs, Buffy sees one of Sweet's minions is holding a pool cue. When the beat changes to the hard-rock tune of the second verse ("Where there's life/There's hope") and the minions attack, Buffy grabs the pool cue from the minion, hits him, elbows the second minion, kicks, punches, strikes a couple of blows with a pool cue, and then throws it to impale the third minion. This figure comes with the pool cue already bound to Buffy's hands by the use of really thin bands of plastic. The only other accessory is a stake, and I already have plenty of those sitting in my little box of collected accessories.
It claims above that there are 29 points of articulation for this figure, but I do not see how you get to that number, even if you saw a ball joint goes in two directions in two ways. What I find for points of articulation is that you have the neck, upper torso, shoulders, mid-bicep, elbows, wrist, hips, knees, and ankles. The upper torso one stands out because it allows for better looking postures than when the stomach on the figure does the same thing. The problem is that because these figures do not have a base to which they can be attached there are a limited number of postures that will work to keep these figures upright, so be prepared for them to fall down a lot (although the pool cue does help a bit with trying to maintain a center of balance).
Of the three new Buffy figures my favorite is the "Graduation Day" Buffy, although it is still the Series 2 Buffy that is the one chosen for the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" display area of my office where I have my favorite figures for each character, but that is more because it has a big base and can stand up rather than any aesthetic consideration. Final Note: There is also a "Once More With Feeling" Anya Action Figure and they have just anounced a "OMWF" figure of Dawn, so it will be interesting to see if any more are forthcoming (I have seen where somebody used a Series 5 Willow head and a Series 4 Drusilla body to make a custom "Once More With Feeling" Willow figure, so I guess some people do not want to wait).

She was the bad girl you wanted to love into being a good girl, which finally happened on Angel. As for the product itself, it's well made and should last a long time. The detail is great. So if you loved the character Faith, this collectible is the doll is for you. (And let's face it; for almost all of us, this is as close to Eliza Dushku as we're ever gonna get, lol!) Thank you Eliza for such memorable performances.

The 12? Faith figure is dressed as she appeared in the Season 3 episode "Bad Girls," complete with long-sleeved white shirt, black vest, and black leather pants. Faith includes a crossbow, wooden stake, and the knife given to her by the Mayor, later used against her by Buffy. And what Faith figure would be complete without the tatoo on her right arm.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Watcher's Guide Box Set of 3 Action Figures (Rupert Giles, Wesley Wyndham-Price & Spike as Randy Giles) Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not a toy person. I walked into SUNCOAST to buy DVDs with a gift card, but when I saw my three favorite male characters from the Buffyverse in this attractive boxed set, how could I resist? Both Suncoast and Amazon sell this set for a very reasonable $44.
Giles (as he appears in the Buffy episode ) is a good likeness, but doesn't look as much like himself as the other figures do. Spike (as he appears in the Buffy episode "Tabula Rasa") is a perfect likeness, and comes with a little 'Randy Giles' hat--think Kyle from South Park. Wesley (as he appears in the Angel episode "The Shroud of Rahmon") looks the most like himself. All three figures convey the physical appearance and the personality of their respective characters.
A few minor problems: Their is a pair of glasses that come with the set, presumably meant for Giles. They are too big for Wesley and Spike, so when I put them on Giles, they were a tight fit. Apparently too tight, because when I picked up the figure, the glasses shot off into space--never to be seen again until I step on them with a bare foot. I also noticed that the figures are all looking downwards, but that's not that big of a problem.
The verdict? A very, very good buy.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel AFX Exclusive 'Ring' Angel Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)"The Ring" is the first season episode of "Angel" that is basically the show's demon version of "Fight Club." Angel is investigating a disappearance of someone when he ends up disappearing as well, being enslaved by an underground gladiator fight ring. The only way to survive is for Angel to kill his opponents, which he is not particularly inclined to do, and sparking a Spartacus-like revolt seems a long shot. But what else would you expect a vampire with a soul to do?
This six-inch action figure of Angel from "The Ring" offers one of the best sculpts of David Boreanaz's face in this current series. Angel is stripped down to his manly white t-shirt and black pants, accessorized by a metal wrist cuff that prevents the enslaved fights from crossing the red lines on the floor and in the ring. The distinguishing feature of the series is that instead of attaching the figure to a peg in the base they just stand there and there is a six-inch backing to the base. For this figure there are a pair of double manacles hanging from the wall. The other accessories are a big stick and your basic knife. This is one of the few figures in recent series from Diamond Select Toys that does not have a weapon (or baby) already in the figure's hand(s) kept in place by a thin strip o' plastic.
Also included in this latest series of Angel figures are the Season Five Angel, Vampire Angel (with baby Connor), Pylean Demon Angel, and "Graduation Day" Angel, to go along with Season Three Fred, "Shells" Illyria, and Illyria in full demon mode. With the previously released figures of Cordelia, Wesley, Lorne, Darla, and Faith, you can choose you favorites of each character and create your own little "Angel" tableau. Plus you can change the figures as the muse strikes you. Now all we really missing from "Angel" is Gunn, although a grown up figure of Connor and one of Doyle would be sweet as well. I would not find figures of Harmony, Lindsey and Lilah ("The Ring" was her first appearance), not to mention Eve and the Groosalugg.
