(More customer reviews)My first Ravensburger puzzle. At first, the bright turquoise backing and plastic-y picture surface with hatched lines seemed odd but I soon didn't notice anymore. The pieces don't hold together as much as Pomegranate puzzles but they're good enough.
With large blocks of black, red and particularly grays this is a puzzle you have to look at the shape of pieces to solve. I prefer fitting the picture together than looking for pieces that match, but this was a nice change of pace.
I didn't like the Photoshop work on the image. There are slightly bluer patches and redder patches but they are randomly placed rather than relating to light or type of foliage. Also there is variation in blurriness/clarity which has nothing to do with mist or distance - it's the product of lazy image manipulation. Both these things help somewhat with finding matching pieces, but they don't give a hint as to where they fit in the larger image.

This jigsaw puzzle was painted by Ana Cruz. It shows a young and rather ethereal looking girl easily attracting some butterflies deep in a foggy forest setting. This puzzle contains 1000 pieces and measures approximately 20 x 27 in. when completed.
