(More customer reviews)This is about as much of a toy as those McFarlane figures that can't be posted. It's really just a figure meant to be looked at. So no, as far as how much fun it is as a toy or its education value goes; those are basically nil.
It is pretty well made though and was actually larger than I expected. My only gripe is really that the pegs used to fasten the figure to the base tend to pop out if you try to move her around so it's best to be careful, especially since the sky fish is only attached to her fingers and could easily snap off if it fell the right way. The base is also just a thin plastic as well. All in all it will hold fine as long as you are careful when moving it, there's not really a problem once it is in place.
The detail on the figure itself is pretty good and tends to match the style and look of the series perfectly. It's not overly detailed, but they aren't in the anime either so this isn't a huge issue. I have another figure of Rakka from Haibane Renmei and that one is significantly more detailed, but the anime itself is also drawn in a more detailed manner so it fits in that case.
