(More customer reviews)So I actually purchased this for a friend who is a HUGE Tarantino fan. Reservoir Dogs is his favorite, so I figured this would be good because the figure is actually Tarantino himself, in addition to being from Reservoir Dogs. Make sense, right?
Anyways, this figure is amazing. I have to hand it to NECA, this did an outstanding job of capturing QT's face on this figure. It's much better than comparable Res Dogs products, and it honestly just looks exactly like him. So well done on that, NECA. If you're looking for a figure that really captures his likeness, look no further because you won't find one better than this. Most pictures online don't do it justice, but when you see it, it's instantly recognizable.
He comes with removable shades (VERY delicate however), a pistol, and an asphalt looking base than can connect with the other Dogs to recreate the walking scene from the opening credits. (If you want all the figures to link together and you've got about [...], go for the Cult Classics Presents Reservoir Dogs Boxed Set by NECA set.) His index finger on his right hand is extended so you can actually put the gun in his hand with his trigger finger on the trigger, which again shows the attention to detail put into this guy. His tie and suit jacket are made of soft plastic so they are a little movable, you can pose his tie somewhat, but the legs are just one piece. So basically you can have him stand on his base, or stand somewhere else. His arms move on ball joints and his head moves, but other than that, there's not much articulation. If you're planning on playing with this toy, this may present a problem, but really it's just meant to sit on your DVD shelf and look cool, isn't it? I don't think anybody's going to be giving this to their kid to pull off a heist of Barbie's diamonds. Actually, that would be kind of cool, but that's beside the point.
So in summary, great detail, great likeness, great 'cool' factor, so-so articulation, but who cares. My friend loves it, by the way. I kind of want one for myself now, though.
