(More customer reviews)about a year ago, not quite sure. I'm a little confused by the other reviews about it being difficult. I had to show him about 4 times and then he was on his own. It just broke a few days ago so I'm on-line to get him another one. That said, this toy gets played with almost daily, and gets transformed frequently during those play times. I gave it 5 stars for durability, 5 for fun since he does play with it all the time, and even 5 stars for educational. I feel it has helped him learn to read directions, follow the sequence of them and it also strengthens fine motor skills. Great toy...all of the transformers we have from this maker have been worth the money, hours of play.
