to be played with or dragged around outside playing "soldiers & aliens". This comment
section says to rate its educational value, but I doubt it has any "educational value"
other than being admired by fans of the movie.
It is a collectible for us guys who enjoy science fiction movies & would like to have
something unique from the movie. This item is absolutely fabulous, being well made
and arriving in its factory-sealed extremely-well-packed double box. The only bad part
was that it was - of course - made in China. It is serial numbered, from a limited
edition of 1,000. Most of its components are made of steel and aluminum, which means
it is quite heavy (I think at least 15 lbs), so it is definitely not a cheap piece of
plastic. In fact this thing appears to be more durable than the real M16 I carried in
Nam so long ago.
This movie prop replica looks so realistic, I would not dare carry it outside,
or I could expect a quick visit from the SWAT team. All the moving parts work, &
the only thing it does not do is actually shoot. One really nice feature is that
when you slap in the magazine, the number 95 lights up in big red numerals - just
like in the movie. Be advised it is shipped with 2 AAA batteries already installed
to light the display, but you have to open the battery compartment & remove the
tiny plastic tab which prevents the batteries from powering the circuit during
shipping. Then push in the mag again & watch the numbers light up.
Rifle came with a really nice wall-hanger to mount it on your wall, where it will be
handy to grab the next time some Aliens break in. It could also be used to scare hell
out of a burglar.
