(More customer reviews)The ninth anime figure in the Mon-Sieur Bome Collection is a double feature: Eclair and Lumiere from the anime series Kiddy Grade.
When I cut the figures out of their blister packaging, I was stunned by the high quality of the craftmanship. These figures are solid, heavy, attractive, and beautifully painted. Eclair is a whopping 8 1/2 inches tall on her stand, while Lumiere is 7 1/4 inches tall with stand.
The sculptor Bome made a tremendous effort to faithfully reproduce all the minute details for these characters, from the upside down curl behind Lumiere's right ear, down to the upside down cross on Eclair's one-piece dress. The quality is consistent from front to back. However, Eclair's dress is actually a dark cherry red color, her ribbon is more greenish than blue, and Lumiere's ribbon is a darker red color as well.
The physical poses of Eclair and Lumiere do look right though. Lumiere is holding her traditional cup of red wine (which is jarring if you consider that she's supposedly 10 years old in the anime). And Eclair is exuding confidence and happiness on her face. The best part of these figures are definitely the eyes.
Each stand is covered with a sticker indicating that the girls are members of GOTT. And the stands do an excellent job in providing stability for the figures. With the way Eclair throws her hips out to the right, while her upper body leans back, you would expect her figure to tilt and fall at any moment. But her GOTT stand, with snug fitting pegs for both legs, ensure the stability of Eclair.
The Bome version of Kiddy Grade E'Clair & Lumiere PVC figure set from Kaiyodo is a fantastic release at an awesome retail price of $35. Kaiyodo deserves extra kudos for the high quality of this mass produced figure set. Whether or not you're a fan of the show, this is a MUST BUY for anime figure hobbyists!
