(More customer reviews)This package comes with 5 owl pellets, approximately 1 1/2" long. As the other reviewer mentioned, they are just wrapped in foil and sent in an ordinary manila padded envelope without any directions. I was able to find instructional videos and directions by doing a search online and even a bone identification chart, which helped my kids (ages 9 and 6) identify their findings. Basically, you carefully pull apart the pellets on a piece of white paper and very gently pull out the bones, teeth, etc. with your fingers or tweezers. Our pellets contained many bones and several skulls, much to the kids' delight. Our bone chart led us to believe that our owls consumed shrews. This project is a good lesson in patience; it kept us entertained for about 30 minutes. They got to keep their "findings" in a plastic baggie. Be sure to wash hands thoroughly after handling the pellets.
