The "wool" that the kit comes with is ok, but I found that a thicker yarn makes an amazing scarf that would actually keep you warm. I made a gorgeous scarf(in an afternoon)with $5 yarn from Walmart and my friends and family went Gaga over it. Guess what everyone is getting next year for Christmas...
