(More customer reviews)I purchased this model ferris wheel kit for myself, I love ferris wheels, and the different models of them, that are out there. The total frame and wheel itself is constructed of, I believe, stainless steel. The only plastic parts on the model are the colored cars, and the battery powered motor, and gears. This was manufactured in Germany, and most of the writing on the box is in German. Luckily, the assembly instructions are all visual with pictures and not written out. At first, it's hard to begin construction, you have to really pay attention to the pictures while assembling the whole thing. Once you get started, it's pretty easy going.
If you happen to have big hands, handling the tiny screws and hex nuts may pose a problem. It takes patience and it's hard to squeeze your hand in some of those tight places to get a hex nut started onto the screw and even more challenging to get it all tightened. The good thing is that they provide you with the necessary tools to put the model together.
It's all held together with screws and hex nuts, no gluing at all. Once it's all together and snug tight, it forms a very sturdy, reliable model ferris wheel. It's not K'Nex by any means, but it's worth buying and watching it run, I say go for it if you are up for a challenge with tiny screws and hex nuts.
