(More customer reviews)I purchased this for a gift for my sons little brother who is 8. This was his first Erector Set. These newer sets are a big step beyond the ones they had when I was a kid in the 70's. This set includes an electric motor along with the usual gears and wheels. It builds many different models, but only one at a time. I don't think there is a better toy to get a young boy or girl interested in the physical world of nuts, bolts, gears, wheels and motion than Erector Sets! The only complaint was that the instruction page detailed the building of one model, the rest were just an assembled photo....full plans are available on their site though so its really not a big deal. If you buy/gift this toy, you might want to include a tupperware container as there are lots of tiny parts to get misplaced ....probably ought to come with one but...
