(More customer reviews)This is my second Revoltech figure; the first being a Kerberos Panzer Cop. I've found myself loving the articulation that the Revoltech joint system allows, along with the durability their figures seem to have. Unlike most "collectible" figures today, Revoltech's products aren't prone to falling apart, so long as you don't bash them against a wall, and if an arm or hand falls off, they generally can be put back on with no problem, since all of the joints are detachable, via a pin system.
On the subject of this particular figure, if you don't know, this isn't the "regular" Unit 01. This is the "Awakened" version, seen in the second Rebuild movie, and in the original animated series. The neon green has been replaced with bright red/orange, and the default head is the EVA's "berserk" head, with a wide-open jaw, and bulging eyes. If you don't like the berserk look, fear not. You can take off the translucent "angel" arm and replace it with a "regular" arm that comes with the figure. There's also a "regular" head with a slightly less-wide jaw and non-bulging eyes. There's even a shoulder segment that displays the EVA in its "damaged" state, with a cross-section of the inside of the arm visible. You also get an assault rifle, an extra entry-plug-cover piece, on which an included halo can be mounted, tons of extra hands in all sorts of positions, the umbilical plug, a (useless unless you live in Japan) Revoltech 10-point coin, and an "eyepiece" of sorts, which, when placed on the "nose" of the figure, makes it seem as if the eyes are shining brightly, as the unit "awakens" after having an arm cut off. The one problem I can see with this figure is that switching heads is a bit troublesome. The best way I've found is to remove the double-jointed neck from the body, slip the head off, and set the new head on the peg, before pushing the bottom pin back into the main body of the figure. If you're too rough with the figure, it can, and will, break, though I haven't had any such thing happen to me.
