(More customer reviews)The Kaufman figure in the picture is NOT what you're buying. That figures looks awesome this one does not. The figure depicted uses the same body as the Kaufman that comes packaged with Jerry Lawler but has an even more impressive head sculpt that looks just like a young Andy.
What you're actually buying here is a goofy, doofy, bulky, awkward looking, ugly figure. Don't bother with this one just get the Lawler 2 pack.
What I don't understand is Jakks themselves knew that the prototype looked amazing. Which is why they chose to use it in all promotional photos. But for some reason when it came time to mass produce they decided to go with a completley different figure.
I don't know maybe they thought it'd be a good prank like in the spirit of andy kaufman
"lets put up all these pictures of a cool lookin figure then omg this is gonna be such a great put on
when they open it hes gonna look like a retarded Jim Ross! AHAHAHAHAHAHA"
The figure is too tall and doofy lookin. Jakks never had real scale but for some reason made some figures bigger than others. Andy was 6 feet tall making him just about the same height as Van Dam or Shawn Michaels but this figure is taller than my Van Dam. It's as tall as Kane. Andy was skinny so the original mold made complete sense. The mass produced one is bulky and obtuse.
The face sculpt is absolutely dreadful. He looks like he suffers from a serious nuerological disorder. And his face is uneven and a little miss shaped. They also caught none of Andy's charm. The expression he has couldn't even be called an expression it's just this stupid lifeless look. Maybe if It's one of the most annoying things about figures when they give them these expressionless faces.
After a while it grew on me and didn't look so bad but i was disappointed at first. I tried my hardest to like it.
You know when you buy something stupid but you lie to yourself about liking it so you don't feel like an ahole for wasting your money? Yeah that's what I did for a good hour then i said F it and started yellin an screamin at my mother.
Another major problem is his hands. You might not think it but the hands are important to the overall look. They gave this figure the same hands that are on Kane or John Cena which are these really huge awkward looking hamhocks. He looked like a genetic freak.
I don't get it. What was the thought process? Why give him such huge monstrous hands? At first I thought it was a mistake.
"Oh nah, pshh it's not suppose to be like this. I'm actually in possession of a rare 'misprint' they accidentally gave him Andre's hands."
But NO! that's how they all are! Just why!? Did I miss out on something? Was there some reason for this? Like what was andys signature move the chokeslam so they decided
"We gotta make sure he can really getta good grip on his oppenent! OMG THE ANDY SLAM!!!!"
"He likes to call that one 'Andy's Coffin' OMG LOL!"
So What are the positives?
Um idk he comes with a neck brace? and a brown stretcher. oh and a stupid lookin robe. So that's kinda cool.
And it's an Andy Kaufman figure. And uhm he actually has articulation.
It's awesome that Jakks made one at all.
Some of the figures stupid lookingness isn't Jakks's fault the outift is a pretty boring one. But maybe if you knew how to make doll clothes you could make his signature outfit.
Black turtleneck, Oxford shirt, olive and blue plaid hound's tooth blazer, white jeans and white Converse tennis shoes. So yeah in conclusion this figure isn't worth it just get the Lawler 2 pack.
